GPS Recommendations?

I'm looking for a GPS to take 4-wheeling. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking at the Garmin eTrex Legend, but am still learning about them. Looking for ability to transfer data between it and the PC to build my own maps, as the areas I ride are basically wilderness. Hoping for moderate price range, around $200'ish. Thanks!

I sell GPS. (er.. should say I buy GPS)
I have a legend, vista, lll+, summit,
and a 76s.
The only problem I see with the legend is the fact there is no external antenna.
So you'll have to keep it up on the top of the dash to hold a signal. 8mb of ram will let you download additional maps,
(must use proprietary Garmin software.)
Roads and Rec. or Topo will give you some trail info and or 4 wheel info.
For use in vehicle, I like either the 3+ or the 76S. Garmin is coming out with a couple of new units in the next couple months, this will most likely drop the prices further of existing units.
The V has come down $100. Down to $400. currently.

I use the Garmin IV, and it seems to work just fine. I have it hooked to my laptop at work, and when I drive test or dispatch, I can follow my movement. That in itself is invaluable for me personally. The screen is small, and color would be neat, for portable uses, but not crazy needed. I enjoy the Garmin very much.

I've got a Magellan Meridian Gold. It's a bit out of your price range, but Magellan has other versions of the Meridian that are a bit cheaper. Even their SportTrac series seems pretty popular. I'm happy with mine, and the batteries last a real long time. (2 double AA's go for about 13 hours or so).
