Polk Dxi / DB series xmax?

Ok, from what I can see the dxi124dvc has 18.5mm xmax. I'm failing to understand how the entry model 12"dvc db series sub has identical t/s parameters but 10mm less xmax. What am I missing here?

    could be a spider limitation, the smaller surround also comes into play.

    That's what I was thinking, but you can only tell so much from pictures. Just seems the specs would be further apart. At the same time i'm no t/s master either, so the ones that are the same could not be effected by the diff xmax..
