Looking to get rid of the Yamaha sub in my living room and am considering this one as it's replacement. If it matters, the other speakers are the RT2000i's, FX300i's (rear) and Blackstone TL3 center. Am I to hear any improvement with this sub, or should I hold out for a better one?? Thanks

I would need to know more about your Yamaha sub to say whether the PSW111 is an improvement. Do you have a model #?2.1: PC>Schiit Gungnir MB>Schiit Freya Noval>NAD C-270>Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1, HSU STF-2 5.1: HDMI Bitstream>Denon AVR-1910>polkaudio RTE55, CS350-LS, RT3, HSU STF-2, Visio M55-F0

Seeing as how the PSW111 has a larger driver and a more powerful amplifier, I would say it would be an upgrade from the Yamaha.
However, I don't consider either of these a dedicated home theater subwoofer. The PSW111 would be OK for HT in a small room, but is better suited for music. For HT, I would use a subwoofer that extends down to lower frequencies.2.1: PC>Schiit Gungnir MB>Schiit Freya Noval>NAD C-270>Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1, HSU STF-2 5.1: HDMI Bitstream>Denon AVR-1910>polkaudio RTE55, CS350-LS, RT3, HSU STF-2, Visio M55-F0 -

As far as Polk subs, you could probably use one of the DSW series, 500 or 600,although the micro pro would be a better choice. Assume you have a budget, and the DSW series can be found on sale quit often.

Then what the hell are you doin' with that teeny little center of yours? I can't imagine that gives a good timbre match with the 2000's.
Sub-wise, go with the highest-rated Polk sub available - GREAT for music as well as HT! - the DSWPRO550Wi. It would work perfectly with your setup and can be had for a great price at Newegg. They're priced at $499 now, but go on sale for $279-$299 pretty often. You can go to their site and sign up for a price alert. They'll send you an email when your designated price is met. I got my last one there for $299 w/FREE shipping and no tax plus a FREE UltraFit 3000 pair of in-ear sport headphones ($99 at Best Buy, $79 at Amazon right now). Terrific sub!!
Also, when looking up info on this sub, look up DSWPRO500 too. They are the EXACT same sub, except that the 550 Wi is "wireless ready", meaning you can purchase the adapter to make it usable that way. -

I'm also using the reviews of the DSWPRO500 since it's the exact same sub, without wireless capabilities. -
I own a PSW111 I'am happy with it, compliments my A5's A3's and Csia4 quite well, there are lots of better subs out there, but I'am happy with mine.Home Theater

Any of the DSW Pro **** WI's would be a good sub. I have ran the 550 and currenly have the larger 660. Look for them to go on sale from www.newegg.com They can be bought for about half price.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

I have a PSW111 too and it's a great sub - very happy with it. However, IMO, it's nowhere near the sub that the DSWPRO550Wi is and with two 8" subs in each of his front RT2000i's, I don't think the 111 would add much to what he's already getting.
Regarding the 550's wireless capabilities, I've never experienced them firsthand and haven't seen any good reviews on them. I have heard other wireless speakers though, and remain yet to be impressed. -
I dont use my 660 as wireless. It is hooked up like a normal sub.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
