After debating and confirming I have to let some of my speakers go to cull the heard.I have put up my Infinity SM112
and my Bose 601 series 1 sets w/ adds on C/L. They have been both been listed for some time now w/o any hits
at all except the usual scammer I'm to busy but I'll send more $ for you to hold them and my helper will make all
the arrangements.I have listed the Infintys foe $145.00 in livining room presentable condition w/ all drivers and all
controls original. Both woofers have been re foamed and are set up for audition. Not 1 call or mail.
The Bose I listed at $265 w/ pretty much the same rap w/ all 4 woofers re foamed and for 30y/o speakers cabinets
are in very good shape w/ Symmetrical controls both working. After reviewing prices from both E-Bay and the U.S.
Canuck AudioMarts my prices are both lower w/ most listed and mine are in much better shape than some I have seen not to mention the shipping charges if they go that route. So even if these were wildly over priced and they seem
not to be, wouldn't you at the very least call to see if there was some wiggle room in the price and could I hear them.
I did not list them here because you guys seemed to scoff at them and I'm really trying to sell for some good $
to maybe get some Vandersteen Sig 2a and that would be it .

 Short...to the point...and honest. Thats what I always dug about Mr. Grand.

    Lw,
The infinity's are worth about 50 bucks and the 601's maybe 200. Try lowering your price to get some action. I know you put some work into these speakers but we all tried to tell ya before, they aren't worth the effort. Just too many other speakers, better speakers, out there used in the same price range. You might get some action on the Bose if you went to a Bose forum and posted them. Also try expanding the area on C/L to get more eyes looking. Good luck.

C/l is pretty tough to sell on even if it's priced right.

Price it right and it'll sell. Eventually.

I've found that Bose's marketing expertise extends to CL as well. I sold my 301's, center, and dual cubes + stands for something like $300. I assume it also depends on where you live.

I got it .I do fully admit that these are not what you would call audiophile speakers. But not 1 hit ,not 1 inquiry.Lowering the prices is fine but again wouldn't you call to see where the pricing would go. Yea I got them on the cheap and you all around here know that
besides being not all that worthy I wouldn't embarass myself to offer them up here. I look at it if people are paying wacky prices for "white van speakers" or E-bayers who can not even hear them then I thought at the very least I would get some action on some level. As for no one wanting these ,as your 1st dorm room ,frat house speakers, bsmt 2nd system I can see all kinds of uses besides the fire wood option.

I only inquire on ads that are at or below market value unless is mega rare and i have to have it. I think your infinity's are a bit steep (like 2x what i'd pay), don't know about the bose.

The Infinity ad isn't bad aside from price...but then price is subjective to the prospective buyer.

Have you looked at any recent sales on Ebay to get an idea of the market. IMO, your prices are WAY too high. But then again I would never be in the market for either speaker.

It doesn't seem your 601's are out of line, but not many series I sell. Detailed pics would help 1000%.

Personally anyone who sells w/o photo's I view as lazy or extremely uninterested in selling something.

I do have a problem w/ taking pictures and has nothing to do w/ being lazy. They are in my camera and ready to go but my camera does not open up to upload on my computer and the SM112 add was done on my nephew's machine. My bro-in law who sweeps
computers has got to fix all my nagging problems and clean out any virus.I still think that since the word firm was no where in the
add was in the buyers favor. I did check and I saw SM 112s all scratched up w/ shipping asking over $200. That's nutty. The Bose I know I should be able to get between $150-$200 again compared w/ what I've seen. As for my posts ,yes I agree by now they should have a better flow and more to the point and now I see the goals and will try to achieve them.I still believe you can find out more by calling the poster than not . It's in the buyers best interest if they desire a certain product.

Thats your problem in a nutshell,LW. Not much desire for them. As H9 suggests, pics tell alot and would benefit your sale greatly. Speaking for myself, I won't even consider a used product without a pic, waste of time. Both those speaker brands do have a following so it may be best to list them on their appropriate forums.

Well a minor update. Yes I have lowered the prices on both sets of speakers. I did get a few calls and if the storm isn't to bad I can audition the Boses today.I know I have to get pix out on the Boses the prices they are asking are ranging for a low 2 different
$375+ shipping and a high of a BIN price of $600. So my prices for either pair are so much less then what's out there.

Be sure to look at completed sales not just what people are asking. People can ask anything, it's the ones that actually sold that you should be using for a baseline. Like I said, when I looked at completed sales there were perhaps 2 series I Bose 601 sold, so not a lot of info.

Yeah, you've got to have detailed pics. Best to throw them up on photobucket & hot link them in your ad. That way the pics are nice & big instead of those low-res postage stamp sized ones you get if you let C/L handle it. There's rarely anything of interest that isn't at least a 1/2 to 1 hr drive from my place. I'm not going to waste my time driving that far only to find out the seller's definition of "living room presentable" seems to match my definition of piece of crap. Good pics help, a lot.

I expect people to list things at a higher price & negotiate. But if the price is 2x what they're generally worth, I won't waste my time as you've already given me the impression you're an unreasonable seller.
