For that kind of $$ I'd look into ID like SVS, HSU, Epik, etc...

If you need the tiny footprint, the Micropro is a fantastic sub.
If you have room for a larger sub, Ken's suggestions of Hsu, SVS, etc are great too.

If you need a small footprint, the SVS PC series can't be beat, imo. My 25-31 PC+ still amazes me...

I have the DSW 1000 it sounds great and fits in my cabinet.

sub is in a small 13'x 14' room. I have DT main speakers and I can't really crank it up more than 1/3 w/ my underpower amp.

its a well made sub I have sean the DT little sub and it looks cheap compared to the DSW.

The DSW has a remote and that the best way to set the subs volume from you listening chair.
only thing I don't like is the retarded volume display you have to count a fast blinking light to determine level.

haven't mounted the right main speaker yet.

It's a niggling detail, to be sure, but the smallest in the PC series is still 16+inches wide. I know we are only talking 4 inches here but sometimes, 12 inches is all the space you have. I am lucky in that I can use a larger sub downstairs on the left side of my fireplace. But if I was relegated to just the right side, I would only have 12 inches to work with. The Micropro in this case would be ideal.

As for the OP, if you have the room, you can't go wrong with any of the suggestions Ken made.
None of them have huge footprints by any means.
Bear in mind too that most of the "digital" subs like the Micropro are going to take some fiddling to get just right. Even the built in room correction is touchy based on listening position.

seeing where I have my DSW do you have any suggestions on room correction settings? I think I have it set at mid room.

Actually, any time you put a "box" inside a "box" you are going to have degraded sound quality. Waves cancelling waves, cats and dogs living together...
I would move it out to the left side of your stand if you can.
As for room correction, I did the mic setup with mine after about 3 days of trying to manually dial it in. It made a HUGE difference in how good it sounds.

I don't know how good the DSW is, but I have been really disappointed with Def Tech subs....

OK when you say "I would move it out to the left side of your stand if you can." do you mean where I have my laptop case? I put it on the right for a couple reasons I though having in the corner created more bass, and there's alot less traffic (people walking pass it)

The way it's now the top part of the stand is about 1 1/2" protruding.

What mic are you referring to I did'nt get one w/ my DSW MP1000.

Keep forgetting that the 1000 doesn't come with the "Pro" version of the room correction.

As for location, I meant on the floor itself. You are going to get more boominess from the sub where it is at but you are going to lose a LOT of sound quality.
Corner loading subs does help but you aren't corner loading...you are putting your sub inside a box.
