Ahem. Now that i have your attention I own a cs1000p and a pair of ls 90 and I love them "but the ls 90s dont do ht well for some reason" my only beef is the fact that if I didnt get to hear the 90s from some guy that was selling them in his own home then I would have never had a chance to here any of polks nicer speakers. None of the electronics store in my city carry polk "I live in Boise Idaho" except for circut city and all they carry are the rt line. And no offense but the guy in cc was verry bad at answering any questions I had. Just sounding off on how i feel about Polk and I would like to thank every one that contributes to this forum. You guys are so helpfull. :D

I feel for ya livin up there. I haven't ever been to ID, and can't really come up with a reason that would make me. I lived in Salt Lake City, which I actually did really like living there for 7 years, but ID.....that's a stretch.

If you really want to see Polks go to the R.C. Willey furniture Store. I beleive the Idaho store is in Meridan.
R.C. Willey Is a Utah Based Furniture Giant. But they carry the LSi's. There sales people are not that sharp on the LSi's. I have had to educate the sales guys I have run in to. But you can see polks best locally. Hope this helps.

    Warviper,
Have you calibrated your system with an SPL Meter? Speaker placement is also critical to good suround sound experience. Check out WWW.Dolby.com for info regarding proper placement.

Yea Ive seen those charts about speaker placement and Ive tried toe in and still it sounds blended. I think the problem is the fact that my room is loke 10' by 25' and the damn cs gives such a wide sound they over power the ls 90s. What do you think?

A seamless front stage is a desirable thing. You've got a perfect setup.

Either it's totally balanced, or the speakers are so close together that he's not able to differentiate between the right channel and the left, etc etc. If you can put them as far off to the sides as the TV, you might see some difference in the overall sound. Also play with toe-in (angled slightly to your seating position) for some more focalized, but seperated sound.

Proper calibration is one of those things that most people that are new to home theater don't do. I think you'll really be pleased with your set up after you've had a chance to play around with the various settings on your receiver and used your meter. If you haven't already done so, use the search feature to find some of the recent posts reguarding spl meters and system calibration.

10ft. wide seems really tight for HT. Try hanging some sound dampening materials (curtains, blankets, etc) on the side walls at the point where if your speaker cones extended indefinitely, they would make contact with the walls.

btw, what receiver are you using? Are the speakers set to large or small? What about high and low pass filter settings?

first off i wanna thank every one for responding. im using a yamaha rx-v2300 the setting is to small and no setting on the high pass or low cause some one else said i should connect my sub to the lfe out and not the front preouts. i got a kilpcsh 12 and a deftech 15 they both have like 400 plus watts each and i get plenty of base should i use the front preouts? thanx for the response you guys rock.:D

the deftech is like a tear old and the kipsch is spanking new the ls 90s are old but the sounds still spot on Ill try the calibration and see if that fixes it.

I understand your pain my friend.. up here in Washington.. same difference.. no one here but CC sellls Polk speakers.

the one small high end stereo store within driving distance is in Lewiston, Idaho.. about two hours from me.. and about 8 or so hours from you. They are a small audio shop.. but one of the longest selling dealers of Polk speakers that i know. If the guy is still in biz that is.

Polk just isn't well know in this part of the old West. where we still ride horses, and hitch them up to the hitchingpost out in front of the stereo store, with ma and pa. :p

DangerBoy, it sounds as though you live in Eastern Washington. Pullman, Spokane? I thought perhaps you were in Western Washington, in which case i'd recommend a trip to Portland so that you can visit Fry's in Wilsonville, which is just south of Portland. They're the best alternative to CircuitCity. If you're that close to the Idaho panhandle, you'd be looking at a 6.5-7 hour drive, instead of 3 if you lived in Seattle. :(

    thanks Pete,

yeah i'm thinking a trip to Portland is in the future.. maybe spring time.. after the long cabin fever, i'll be ready to get out and about.

and yes i am in Spokane. What about Seattle? I'm in Seattle more then Portland usually. My friend visits Portland quite often for home theater gear.. i think he goes to the Clackamas Mall and to the CC store in the area.. which he says is much bigger than the CC's we have here, which are pretty liimited in what they carry.
