Sorry no other pics provided. If they work and I can get them for under $100, whatever they are, is it worth it?

For $100.00 I would jump on them. Maybe someone with a better idea of what they are worth will chime. If you go check them out I would look up some the photos of the SDA's first. That way when you takes the grills you have a better idea of what your looking at.

check if all drivers work and run.
    $100 is a steal.

I have to agree with Mystery; $100 is a steal for any SDA speakers. They look like 2A's, but also like 2b studios. Not sure what the original 2's look like. Either way, you're wasting time typing and reading posts here. Go get em.

If they are in good condition, $200 would be a great price, though a bit low ball? These run in the 300 dollar range plus or minus 25, and since they are becoming more and more difficult to find (along with other SDAs that are mostly in the hands of Polkies), they should hold their value just fine!

If you find a bargain that's great but don't "give it to" a fellow Polkie if he's selling these. Stick to the value pricing!

What I'm saying is that if a Polkie were selling these for 275-325 on THIS site, that would be absolutely FAIR. But if you have someone on ebay or CL who does not know the value of SDA 2A/Bs then that's OK. But if someone "here" were selling at a more "normal" price, one should NOT say, but "hey, CL has them for $100", because that's not a "fair" price for someone who knows their VALUE!

    That's all.

I think the one on the right looks larger due to the shadow.

    SDA-1C-bb.jpg

    SD1-B (stock photo)

Missed them by 10 minutes. They were at an estate sale. I got there 1/2 hour early and got number 95. The pro's were there 3 hours early to be in the first group of 40 they let into the home. Waiting in line I watch one guy carrying out a set of Advents, some Yamaha's and finally the Polk's.

I followed him to the van and told him those were ones I wanted. He didn't seem interested in what I had to say.

Me: Those are nice, how much did you give for them?
    Buyer: $100
Me: That's a good price, just what I was thinking they should go for.
    Buyer: Yes not bad.
Me: Do you know what you have there?
    Buyer: Polks
    Me: Right, but which ones?
Buyer: They are seven-way and very heavy.
Me: Did you get the IC cable?
    Buyer: What?
Me: The cable that connects them together.
    Buyer: Only one of them.
Me: Are you a dealer or collector?
Buyer: I buy a lot of vintage audio and re-sell it on CL.

The condition of the speakers was good. The only thing I saw when he was loading them was all the screw heads on the tweeters were very rusty. Speakers were in an old house that probably saw a lot of humidity over the years.

These are some of the best speakers you will ever find. They sound awesome and look Great! (grills are perfect) SDA-1's POLK These speakers sold for around 1700.00 new. I have the instrution manuel and the cord that connects each bass speaker for a deep rich sound.

That $100 deal was indeed very sweet.

Look closer. 3 of them are SL-1000's. The right speaker, left tweet has an SL-2000.

I could have offered the estate sale buyer $150 for the 1B's but I didn't want them that bad and didn't want to haggle. The guy was a pro junk buyer. He had a van full of audio, electronics and computers. Plus his attitude kinda sucked. He didn't know what he had, just that they had a lot of drivers in them....
