Trying to decide on the 703s or the a9s. What I have now is an a6 center with two pro 660 subs. An Rxa800 Yamaha receiver with a Furman pfi elite line conditioner and audio quest rocket 88 speaker wire. I will be doing a lot of movies and tv but also quit a bit of music. Having a hard time deciding what way to go. Any advice?

703's if you're willing to swap out the A6 for a LSiM706c center. That would be the best combo. If you won't switch to the LSiM center, then go A9's.
    2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses

    Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's

If you decide on the A9's plan on an ampin the future. Your AVr is rated at 95 watts, 2 channels driven, maybe 90 or so with 3. The A9's will produce sound, but not like they are designed to sound. A lot of speakers in those cabinets, so they need a lot of power.

Since you already have the RTI A6, you may want to It shouldn't be problem for your AVR to drive them. I would start with the A3's, maybe get an amp, and then the A9's. Then you can reporpuse the A3's to surround duty for 5.1.

How big is the quality difference between the two? And if I do the 703s will i still need a new amp? I've been planning on buying two micromega pw-250 power amps anyways. One for the front left speaker and sub and one for the front right speaker and sub. If I were to do that would I still need a new amp if I did go with the nines?

The 660's have their own built in amps, no external amp needed. Just a signal from the AVR. Putting 250 watts to the A9's would do the job. Your AVR has preouts, the amp would be connected to the L-preout for the left and R-preout to the right. The AVR will handle everything else, unless you want to add power to the center or future surrounds.

I'd say be willing to swap out the center at some point, not necessarily now. I think it's pretty much a unanimous decision that the 703 is the superior speaker, so why not buy the better speaker?
