Hey guys, I am Trey Owen very very few on here know me and if not I can't say I don't get why you wouldn't. It has been 8 years since I attended the Polk fest in SC in 2004. I was only 10 at the time really not a worry in the world. I came across a thread not meaning to about a former member hotwheelman. Well I had heard my dad a few years back talking bout being on here and i knew that was his screen name and I knew sorta what happened. I'm not really trying to open up an old hat full of memories. I just want to let you know I am his son and I did see where you guys thought bad of him and i agree he could have handled things better. I even appologize for what happened. He didnt lie about family or health i just want to assureyou guys of thst im not sure how it was all handled afterwards hopefully the right way. I hope you guys don't hate him he was going through a tought time and he does seem to deal with things better. I do agree though he could have handled thing better!!! Lol he is so scatter brained anyways point is I just want you guys to know I have become an audio addict and I'm not that annoying little kid at a polkfest. I just hope he came through even after some of your guys waits for money. I also hope that I can share some audio finds and hopefully form a relationship with you all heck maybe even get to attend another fest down the road. Oh and i might have been the only 10 year old there but hey I love audio now sorry if bringing this up affends anyone or puts a bad taste in your mouth even I will understand sadly haha

I remember you and see no reason for you to be judged by your father's actions. I'm glad you've grown to enjoy the hobby.Political Correctness'.........defined

Welcome to Club Polk, crsthunder. Hope you stick around and join in the fun here. You'll certainly learn a lot and hopefully gain many new friends along the way.

Welcome the forum. I'm not such an old timer that I know what you're talking about, but I agree with the comment above. You shouldn't be judged by anything your father did."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer

I definitely do enjoy the hobby mainy because of my dad though in ways I definitley see why some of you were mad but its in the past. Even that is hard for to let go. Anyways some of the gear I have now are dcm tf1000,infinity cs3009(pondering the Idea of getting rid of em), and polk audio rt16. Running a hybrid deft/advent sub can't believe how smooth compared to many I've heard and it goes way down 10hz without bottoming out. Also have a carver pm1.5 and hafler dh500 onkyo pre yes it is basic p-3200 but it still does the job as does my marantz 2215b. Ok to only be 18 I already have way to much... Sadly I really dont care about how much space it takes up. Just love audio.

Well let it go then. You manned up about who you are so you can't be accused of not doing that. Now let it be. Like Jesse said, you are your own man. Everything else is a dead issue to any sane reader. If there is somebody here who was wronged in the past and they expect YOU to make good on it, it'll probably come to you in a PM, because I don't think they'd have the nerve to print it for all to see.
Welcome to CP son. -
First off, you are not your father. Secondly, welcome to Club Polk.
I will say this, if there is one thing that your father did correct? He planted the seed for an audio journey to bloom. I don't know the prior situation nor do I care. It was before my time. With that said, pull up and chair and feel free to join in on the discussions.
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~
