Well

Kyle Busch will win :loneranger: Maybe

What do you think?

Since Dale Earnhardt passed away I rarely watch NASCAR but always seem to make time to watch Daytona and Bristol.

The reason I kind of like Kyle Busch is most dislike him

F1 is more about cars than drivers that's one reason NASCAR is far more entertaining than F1 or any other form of motorsports.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Matt Kenseth is from Wisconsin and is a distant relative of my wifes family. So I gotta cheer for the hometown boy.

The only reason NASCAR is more popular in America is that it is an American racing sport. F1 is awesome and it is about the drivers and not just the cars. In modern day car racing mostly all cars are tested prior to race and after the event to make sure no unfair advantage is gain by anyone. If F1 was promoted in America as much as NASCAR it would have a decent market share. The Indy series has died to nothing, but every year everybody comes out, sits around the TV and watch the Indy 500 and we hardly know any of the drivers anymore. Why? becasue its an American triadition. Americas are very funny when it comes to outside sporting events and take a lot of coaxing to get them to give other events a chance. If F1 had American drivers/teams involved it would be something for US to cheer for, so with that main element missing only hard core racing fans care to watch.

Same here. The #3 in my moniker is in memory of Dale Earnhardt Sr.. Gettin' ready to head out to some good ol' southern BBQ and GTG with friends to watch the race. Apparently the fence incident will not delay things today and yes, may GOD BLESS AMERICA

    Nope

It's the direction NASCAR has taken which in my opinion sucks. It has worked well for them so good for them/NASCAR and bad for me.
    Oh well

For me F1 Racing is where it's at. That go fast turn left deal in Nascar has never done anything for me.

This was the least competitive race I have ever seen. No passing, trading paint(unless it was a multi-car wreck). What a joke. Competition has been on a downward spiral ever since the lights went out on #3. And yesterday their safer cars sent twenty-plus spectators to the hospital.

I could swear there was a Hollywood type disclaimer as the credits rolled that said"no drivers hurt during filming". Don't get me wrong, as I don't want to see people get hurt, but the competition is all gone now that every car is exactly the same. After today, NASCAR is dead to me until they find a way to be like the Winston Cup once again. Until then, it is less painful to watch paint dry, or watch PFB search for ladybois in skinny jeans.

Eh, at least in my neck of the woods the BBQ was good. Really good mind you. Back in the day, it was just a hidden bonus. It's sad when it becomes the highlight.

Agreed , it was the most boring restrictor plate race ( more like a single file parade) I have seen in some time.

I'm a firm believer in "If you don't like it, don't watch it." That's why there are 3000 other channels online and on tv. I'm sure someone is watching a paint dry channel somewhere.

IMHO...agree, a bit of a snooze fest yesterday. Here's my take on what ails NASCAR...Since Earnhardt died in 01, don't believe there's been a serious injury since, just a bruised ankle or broken bone here and there. If you look at the cars they're a cocoon inside, drivers with the HANS device in seats they can't even see around... and foam filled doors to top it off. The tracks now sport marshmallow walls in the turns on top of the concrete. I'm all for safety and agree with making the drivers less vulnerable, but...they've taken away the 'risk'. "Whoa, he's doing 200mph at Daytona!" So? If he crashes, likely nothing will happen. To be watchable, racing needs that element of risk. As seen by the huge crash on Saturday at Daytona, the biggest threat today is to the crowd. Without the risk, they might as well be doing their driving in an arcade.

NASCAR rules are the problem. Have been for decades. First, restrictor plates have to go. The idea in racing is to have the fastest car, and that requires an unrestricted engine. Second, this is supposed to be a 'stock car' race, so if a car manufacturer sells a car designed to be a force on a track then a team should be able to race that car.
