I'm just starting to collect vinyl again. Do you guys have any pictures or suggestions on how to store the albums? I'm trying to find a moderately classy solution. Thanks on advance for your ideas.
I like to listen, tinker, listen and repeat.

All new/cleaned vinyl gets a new mofi sleeve, and of course in the album cover then stored in a album crate.

Not everyone likes this solution, but many people (including myself) use the Expidit shelves from IKEA. Depends on how many albums you have and how easy of access you need.

There are some horror stories about Expidit shelves that are fully loaded that have collapsed, but many people use them every day with no issues. I just put little extra support brackets in mine. Not sure if they're needed, but make me feel better.

I use the IKEA Expidit as well. It's clean, relatively low cost, modern and it holds the LP's perfectly. The interior dimensions of each shelf make it to where pulling an LP out doesn't require any undue frustration from room constraints.

I use a DIY album bin that holds 300, and the rest are in stackable album crates. I picked up a neat little Discwasher DiscKeeper for some of my showcase LP's.

The Container Store has album crates available in black and white.

I made this bin with about $25.00 worth of material and an hour of my time. I was going for the old school record store look.

If I had the room this is the best way to easily go through and grab what you are looking for, great job.

Used milk crates are the perfect size but as these become harder to find, the plastic crates as Scomp notes above. Nice part is you can keep the LPs out of the living area (I guess this doesn't matter if you have a dedicated music room) and bring in 20 or 30 albums at a time & they don't take much space.

I built a two story with detachable top. One pair of fixed, one pair of swivel wheels on bottom makes it easy to relocate. It holds ~300.

More pics at photobucket with a rough drawing/dimensions.

    http://s417.beta.photobucket.com/user/scompracer/library/LP%20Bin?#/user/scompracer/library/LP%20Bin?&_suid=136167036647401937941429662926

Some assembly details, grooves are routed into side panels for floor, back and front panels. Helping the glue hold it together are Kreg Pocket Hole screws. They are placed in out of sight areas. Large dowels in bottom section hold the top in place.

Really like that a lot. That's actually what I would prefer, but wouldn't fly in the living room. The Expidit works well for me, but you got a nice rack.

Hehehe, that's too funny. Many folks who are new here may not get this but that's funny as all get up. I'm actually surprised he's keeping any at all. Very surprised, actually. Perhaps deep down, he knows where good sound...

I sold all my LP's years ago, but I found a bunch of 45's later. They are the ones in the closet and the only reason I still have them is sentimental.

Yeah, I do and I don't miss vinyl at all.

Decal. That is cool if you have the room. It looks exactly like an old school record store. Just like Hi Fidelity. I like the Ikea solution. Clean, balanced and you can add on to it. F1, I'm with you, most everything I have now is FLAC but its been so long since I've heard vinyl, I just have to give it a shot and I want my kids to experience what it was like to listen to an Album.

    Thanks Guys.

I'm not sure, but judging by how the sun affects it's leaves in the summer, it's most likely Devils Ivy. I can say, whatever it is, it's pretty resilient.
