This movie/album just came to my attention. How did I miss it until now? I just pre-ordered the bluray and vinyl.

Yes, it was an impulse buy, but the trailer for the movie and the three cuts off the album were enough to convince me. This is right up my alley.

Anyone else heard about this project??

I think you and I are the only ones. I posted this a while back with no response. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?143817-Sound-City-movie&highlight=Sound+city I didn't know there was a blu ray coming though. It's very likely that I will own it.

I think it will pick up a little steam once it is released. The whole analog recording, plus the history of the mixing board, plus the artists.

    Cool vibe...

Got the vinyl and BR on Tuesday. Album is very good.

The Bluray is very good as well. Maybe a little long, but its nice how it's split up. Half is about Sound City and the legendary mixing board, and half is artists in Dave Grohl's studio making new songs on the board.

It's pretty cool to actually see these amazing artists at work collaborating with people they probably wouldn't normally. It's definitely rock and roll. Also pretty cool to see the Nirvana "reunion".

My Daughter got me the DVD for my birthday, I really enjoyed it. Grohl is a true lover of music.
