I have a set of 2A's. I roasted a Yamaha Receiver as it was not four ohm stable at it admitted to be

Your 9090 you did not qualify as a 9090 or a 9090DB. The DB only series shows as four ohm stable.

He crapped the thread. His post makes no sense.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I am here to tell you that yu never get high smoking receivers. The dual boards were four ohm and less and can be brutal to borderline gear

I have a 9090, not a DB model. Here is an AK link that states that a 4 ohm load should be fine if your receiver (9090, 9090DB) is running properly: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=339880&highlight=9090
I am always on the lookout for equipment, so hopefully I can find something in the 200 watt plus range soon. The Sansui was just for basic testing, although I have other receivers that are 4 ohm capable but not rated as high in their output wattage.

I ran a 9090db on 4ohm ba400's for quite a while and never had a problem. I imagine if I pushed it to half volume for several hours there might've been a problem. But at sane volumes there was never an issue.

I hooked them up yesterday and ran them at a decent level for an audition, about 10 watts RMS without a problem. I need to find a bigger amp/receiver in the future.
