Rogue 99 Super magnam

Guys...........the upgrade bug lives in my neighborhood and visits me regularly. I hate that whenever he comes-a- knockin' ....I always open the door!

Anyway, I've been eyeballing the Rogue Audio 99 Super Magnam pre-
First, I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this unit and could give their opinion, feedback, or thoughts.

I was also wondering about an amp to pair it with. I have a Rotel RB 991 and B&K 3030 connected to my SDA 1c's,
but would like to get the best out of the Rogue. I know everything is to personal taste, but I'd like to know what others think.

    I'm pretty sure that Carl (schwarcw) has a Super Mag 99, maybe he will chime in. I just received a Rogue Audio Stealth Mag. phono pre yesterday, good stuff for sure. Didn't you have a Perseus? I remember seeing one for sale, yours?

    Picked-up the 99 Super Magnum today. All I can say is WOW...."I love this thing!"
    Carl (schwarcw)l....thanks for your feedback ..Helped me to decide to pull the trigger!!!!!!!!!!!

    And I am not disappointed. I threw in a couple "Black Treasures (6sn7) tubes and the sound is like "Butter"

    Smooth, detailed, transparent, good bass, and air are just a few words that come to mind.

    Now, here's my dilema, I just had the crossovers upgraded in my SDA 1C's and the break-in time is at about 100 hrs.
    Fellow Polkie "Westmassguy" did the crossovers and did an EXCELLENT job! & I had them back in a week. (thanks)

    Anyway, I don't know how much of this sonic bliss is due to the crossover upgrade and how much is due to the the addition of the Rogue. Don't really care,...cause the sound is so good to me right now. The Rogue is driving a B&K st 3030 (200w) amp
    It sounds good, but now I'm wondering what it would sound like with a better amp. Any suggestions fellas?

    Saw one on the bay for 5K used. Nice lookin' amp, don't think it had the KT 120's
    might have to start saving some coin...but for coin like that I would have to buy from a trusted seller

    Congrats on the new 99! I knew you would be happy! I'm guessing the Super Magnum version has the Tubed Phono Stage included? A Rogue Atlas Magnum amp with the EL 34's / KT 90's / 120's would easily drive your 1C's into sonic bliss. A little less expensive option that would pair very well with the 99.

    I was looking for a Atlas Magnam to pair with the 99..........I ended up running into a Canadian dealer selling a (Demo) Stereo 90 amp (non Magnam). I Jumped on it! It will ship next week.

    Now I have two (2) SS power amps to sell.

    1. Rotel RB 991 (200 watts /8ohms)
    2. B&K ST 30303 (200 watts /8ohms)


    Anybody know any good KT88 tubes

    Had the 90 before the Zeus and you will love it
    Upgrade the tubes if originals still in it
    Call rogue,it'll be the best 200 bucks you'll spend

    Congrats Darren on the Rogue 99 Super Magnum! The additional of Mundorf Gold caps in the signal path, larger caps in the power supply and other changes that Rogue put into this unit to upgrade the Magnum model to "Super Magnum" were definitely work the money. Sylvania 6SN7 tubes are the best bang for the buck. The treasure tubes won't fit, I recommend the RCA 5692 tubes. These are pricey but about half the cost of the Treasure tubes. Also, replace all those EH or stock Rogue tubes in the phono section with NOS Telefunkens. Most are the 12AX7 or 12AT7 variety. They are worth the money.

    Like I said in my email, I had great sound with the Parasound Halo A21. You can always go to the Krell KSA 250 if you need to heat the house LOL!
