New Member Help Choosing Speakers
Hello Everyone I'm new to this forum and putting together a Home Theater system. Im on a budget first thing . i currently have a pair of JBL J520M bookshelf speakers that i want to use as my rears. I was at Best Buy and heard the TSi100 and fell in love with them so i wanted to pick them up as my fronts. I was thinking on adding a PSW10 sub unless someone has a better low budget sub? As my center as was debating between CS1 & CS2 not sure which one will compliment the other speakers, and last but not least i have a sony 7.1 receiver. The route that i was going is buying them refurbished from polk audio to keep cost down. For this being my first Actual sound system I need a helping hand from the Pros. If you guys/gals have any suggestions or problems please let me know im all ears.
Thanks

The CS1 is going to be a closer timbre match to the TSi100s.
They both use the 5 1/4" midrange.
As for the sub, the PSW10 is a decent entry level sub but it isn't going to give you movie theater impacts. It isn't all that musical but for the entry level system you are building, you should be fine."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

WELCOME TO CLUB POLK
For the tiny amount of money, i could not be happier with my trusty psw10.
Far better subs out there, but to provide explosion impact and such for movies, for the price, cant go wrong.
Same with our cs2,for the cash a great speaker, good luck putting your setup together.humpty dumpty was pushed -
Thanks scotty for the welcome.the reason why is because i can get the cs1 for 79.99 and the cs2 for 129.99 not much of a jump in price difference. so i was thinking which one would be a better choice in the long run? as for the sub would you guys better recommend the psw110 instead of the psw10 its about a 50dollar differnce? i rather save up little more cash and spend the extra cash if needed between the sub and center.

In the long run, the CS2 is going to be the better choice. Gives you a bit more flexibility for when you upgrade (and you will...hehe) I can't speak to the subs because I only have experience with the 10."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Amazon has the Polk PSW 505 for 189.99 right now. It's leaps and bounds over the psw10 and110. I have a 505 and a 110, and they aren't even close. Save a few more bucks and get the 505. For the center, I agree the cs2 will probably be the better center over time. One less thing to upgrade later, same for the psw 505.

Thanks Ron now i have been looking from online does anyone have the monitor 40s? Sorry im just trying to get a good starting system.i will check amazon psw505.i tried going to best buy but they are no help as to play sound out of the speakers

I have the monitor 40s as fronts for my system, and they've worked great for me! They don't have much low-end at all, but with a good sub you should be fine. They would be a good match for the cs2.TV - LG 42" LED
Receiver - Pioneer VSX-521
Front speakers - Polk Monitor 40's Series II
Center - Polk Monitor CS1 Series II
Surround - Polk Audio OWM3
Subwoofer - JBL L8400P

Alex, welcome to the club!
I've had M30's, M40's, M70's and the CS2.
If you're seriously considering the TSi100, the M30 will do in a pinch and save you $$$.
My vote also for the CS2, I've heard the 2 and 1 side by side and the 2 blows the 1 into the weeds and then into the ditch.
A pair of M40's and the CS2 would be a good starter set up, sorry, I have no experience with Polk subs.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2
