Just booked a week at this hotel/casino for late June. Never been there before, or even Niagra Falls. Anyone stayed at this hotel or have any info on the area?

Been to Niagara falls a number of times. Liked the Canadian side better. Maid of the mist is fun. I never did it but I bet there is some good fishing up and down river.

I used to live in Buffalo (went to grad school there from 1992-1995) and have been to Niagara Falls a number of times. It has been a while and I am sure things have changed but the Canadian side was definitely a lot better as mentioned in the prior post. There was not much at that time on the American side of the border, other than a nice aquarium. The American side at that time was economically depressed and a bit run dwn. If you are going to Niagara Falls, I definitely recommend that you take some time and also go to Toronto. It is only an hour and half away from Niagara Falls and is a fantastic city - very European with lots of culture and diversity. As my brother used to say (he lived in NYC for many years), "Toronto is just like NYC except that it is clean and the people are nice," haaa. Have a great trip. I am sure you will enjoy it. I live in Albany now, about 4 hours from Niagara Falls area but hope to visit there again soon. Also, Buffalo is nice as well. It gets a bum rap because of all of the snow but there are some cool things to do in Buffalo in the summer (at least when I was there), such as free Shakespeare plays in Delaware Park (a beautiful park built by same person who designed Central Park in NYC), Buffalo zoo, great minor league baseball (Buffalo Bisons, the stadium is a mini Camden Yards, built by same architects of Camden Yards), a nice theater district, free outdoor concerts downtown and, of course, great chicken wings and beer (lots of great neighborhood bars in Buffalo). You should definitely stop by the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, the birthplace of the Buffalo chicken wing! Enjoy!

pglbook, nothing has changed compared to what you have described. US side has a wonderful park, but that's pretty much it, all entertainment is on Canadian side (2 casinos, marine land park, and obviously better views of the falls).

If Toronto seems 'European' to some people, wait until you see Montreal, that's a real fresh breath of Europe.

Cool...thanks for the info. Didn't want to have to deal with a passport, so thats why we are staying on the U.S. side. The hotel looks nice and has a casino. Not big gamblers, but will try it a time or two. Definitely want to check out a Bison's game. We have a great Class A program in Dayton and would like to compare.
