There is one on ebay going for 600.00 with 4 bids on it. 2 days left and 69 dollars shipping. 300 bucks is a low ball offer.

Depends on if they know what they're talking about. You might have more luck on eBay than amongst enthusiasts, as the HCA-1206 is known to have capacitor issues (i.e. Parasound used caps that were under-rated for the voltage rail - confirmed by John Curl). Plus, there are no direct replacements for those caps, so you have to modify the bracket to put higher-rated caps of a different form factor in there. The term "destined to fail" comes to mind.

I wish I had known that in advance. I bought one from a Polkie back in October for $565, and it might as well be a paperweight. Two of the 6 channels are screwed completely, the others have noise in them because of it, and my tech's still fighting to see if he can fix it... and by the time it's repaired, I won't be able to resell it because of the modifications that will probably have to be made to it.
    Equipment list:
    Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
    Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
    Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
    DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
    Epson 8500UB 1080p projector
Elite Screens Sable 120" CineWhite screen

    Welcome to Club Polk!

I do hope that you're not trying to "sell" that "here" because it violates the rules. Stick around and participate.

Also, for a fee you can subscribe to a service that will give you "blue book" values for most gear.

The Bluebook price of a HCA1206 is $700.00, so yes you've received a lowball offer.

Not true. Visit AudioKarma Forums and you will find a lot of PL owners. Phase Linears went south because they were abused. Because they lacked any kind of output protection, when the output devices failed, the entire high voltage rail was dumped into the speakers. I have a 400 Series 2 in my equipment collection to which I have added output protection circuitry. Operating power is taken off the main power supply through a voltage drivider network. Any DC greater than 500mV appearing at the outputs immediately causes the relays to open. That makes the whole "Flame Linear" thing moot.

Retrofitted output protection PC boards are mounted back-to-back in the lower right corner.
