How would SRTs sound without the control center; would they be passable?

You might want to contact ESavion, he's an expert on SRT systems.

That said, I've heard SRT systems many times, but never without the controller, which as I understand it, is vital.
are their any SRT control centers for sale?

Polk doesn't have any and they rarely come up used.

you can use SRT's w/o the control center, however you will not have sub crossover control, or the SDA feature. there are 3 inputs on the back of the main top tower so you can go active and tri-amp them if you want and use a crossover for the sub. with the control center you can really fine tune the subs and select off, normal or wide on the SDA soundstage. I know this is an old thread but people will be searching for SRT's down the road and hopefully this will provide some help to them. I've owned my SRT's for a few years now and my girlfriend loves them for movies, however it's time to let them go.

You need two controllers for the entire 5.0 SRT system.

One controller for the front pair and a second controller for the rear pair.

I bought a second controller for my SRT system although I haven't used it yet. The main reason I wanted it was it had an NOS remote control.
