Isn't that the new WAL*MART special?

I wouldn't deal with it. It's on the level of Urban Audio or Kraco or Sparkomatic. As long as you didn't give him any money for it, I'd use it to prop open a door or something.

Hey, I did an install in my Nissan Hardbody that represented a total investment of about $260 (not including a head unit I already had, displaced from an upgrade out of my Civic, and a 10W0 that I obtained in a trade for a PPI piston 10" that I had sitting around already)..
Used two Phase Linear amps (and I mean US-based parent company Recoton amps.. not the exotica european Phase Linear.. ;))... one to power the 2 ohms worth of line array per door, and the other bridged to drive the sub.

The amps couldn't be any less special, and the results that I got, particularly with the first alignment that I experimented with(TMMT, as in the photos), are possibly the best that I've had so far, despite what may seem counterintuitive (unless you read the linked documents and the theory on that page) to you as regards the speaker locations. ;)

    Why waste a free amp?
If you aren't trying to stress it or use it in an extreme application, and your vehicle doesn't have a significant noise floor, it might work quite well as an amp for you.
Or at least as a spare, to keep on hand, don't you think? ;)

good point geolemon... if it'll do something -- and all you need is "something" --- then see what it can do.

i wouldn't like bet the bank on it and expect it to drive any subs, but do some digging, hit up google, see if you can find specs on it, and maybe you can use it for something.

worst case scenario - sell it on ebay for 30 bucks an dput that 30 toward an amp you'll be happy with.

and MacLeod -- John and I are masters of both etiquette and grammEr... paragons of utter virtue... and oracles of useless and pointless knowledge. if you too my highlander friend wish to attain such a level of existence, do frequent thyne holy momo forum... it's such a splendid place... and polk is such a splendid brand :)

i'm really feeling bad for flaming on polk for like 2 years, but maybe (probably not, but who knows) all the abuse helped prompt them to bring out these new momo carbon fiber speakers.. and if it did, then it was all for a good cause then, cuz this new line really is inspiring me...

i did a google and all i came up with was a 5 channel version at walmart for $169....no specs....just 1000 peak...lol....it did have a plexi top....from what i saw it did have a somewhat beefy power supply....but thats all i could see because odd the angle and small pick...looks to have a couple of 30A fuses

do you have a model #....it may provide better results

    Well...
The amps that I had were inexpensive...
    But they weren't cheap.

Here, for your viewing pleasure, is "cheap".

    One, "200x2" Rockwood amplifier.

is it just me, or does that look like one of those "all in one" chips for amplification -- full + and "-" for two channels... at the bottom center of that pic...

    what a hunk of ****...lol.

that has to be the saddest amp i've ever seen... when in doubt rip out the 5 parts in it and keep it in your room to store your **** so your mom or gf or wifey don't find it ;D jk

although it'd make a great place to keep the weed and bowl....

my favorite part is the power supply...
    Look at that transformer!
    The filter and supply caps!
Phew... that is one heavy amp.

if you think proportionally... if it were an 8 foot long amp it might actually be halfway decent ;p
