Differences in Monitor 7 grills

I need grills for a pair of monitor 7s. Besides velcro and the push on grill clips/buttons, are there different variations of theses grills? Are the push on clips in the same location on each speaker or do the dimensions vary by manufacture date? My clips are 10.5 inches apart left to right and 17.5 inches apart top to bottom. I might have found a pair but the seller says they are 20.5 top to bottom. I’m not too concerned because I can drill new holes.

Also can I replace the clips on the speakers? How do I remove the old ones, what size are they, and where can I buy them?

Thanks for the help

The grilles are different between models, at least between the 7B and 7C for sure. The 7Bs are wooden frames with the grille material stapled on. They fully cover the front of the speaker. I don't know about any differences between 7Cs and model twos, or whether there were variations within the series.

7C grilles are plastic and the material is glued on. They do not cover the entire front - a beveled edge is visible around the speaker front and there is open veneer at the bottom.

The two to my knowledge are not interchangeable.

I think that if you asked the buyer whether the grilles were plastic or wood you'd be able to understand what you're working with.

    Good luck

I own a pair of the Monitor 7Bs (with the peerless tweeter) and the grills don't fully cover the front of the speakers. There is a wooden border/edge at the bottom of each speaker (maybe a half inch or inch wide, sorry i do not have exact dimensions as I don't have speakers in front of me) that is not covered by the black grill cloth and the Polk badge is affixed to that lower wooden edge on my Monitor 7Bs.
