I'd side with just stupid. IMO, if this were an average Joe (or Josephine) making these comments, we'd blow them off as stupid and likely ignore the source. The difference here, is these are people in positions of power. So, do we hold them to a higher standard? Does their comments make them insane and not stupid because of their position? In other words, should we judge them insane in the court of public opinion where we wouldn't judge the guy up the street the same way (perhaps)? If we've learned anything over the last 30 years or so, I think it's that people of power (politics, money, etc) are not necessarily to be put on pedestals. And even with their station in life, sometimes they just say stupid things like most of us do.

From their narcissistic stand point and the idea that all people given a "chance" will do the right thing, the both of them are very logical and quit sane. Its the people who don't see how wonderful they are and only look for the bad in people that are illogical and insane.

I just can't see ANYone asking LEOs to surrender their main means of self-protection (even those pathetic excuses for Senators "in charge" of Cali for as long as I can remember), and be serious about it. With a murderous psychopath looking to exact revenge on those very people they are specifically trying to disarm, it just seems too far-fetched.

I've been ignoring and grouping these two idiots -Feinstein and Boxer- in the "Too stupid to remember how to breath" group for years now. You're damn right the cops are are in chaos. They are running scared too since they haven't been able to apprehend a guy that obviously knows something they don't want public. For satire to work it has to be plausible, not necessarily truthful. The fact that these two idiots COULD have said that is a real possibility. However, this has not been corroborated. If someone has a reference link or citation I would love to see it. Don't get me wrong ...these two (three including Pelosi) definitely rode the short bus but as to this article I have not seen proof.Too much **** to list....
