They are a fantastic speaker. My only suggestions are a Cardas binding post upgrade and a high current amplifier.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

The reason I ask is because I have a mint pair and I was thinking about getting rid of them. I'm the original owner. I have a small place and they're pretty large. I upgraded to WBT on the binding posts. I also upgraded the film caps with Solen, and the Resistors with Caddocks. They're a light oak veneer finish. What do you think I should ask for the pair? I pushed them with an Adcom GFA-555 and they sound wonderful.

My mint pair ran me $600, original boxes, no upgrades. The upgrades are not really going to increase the value to the general market, they are uninformed and could care less. The upgrades will however, to the right person, add some value. I could not tell you what that would be.

It is a great speaker, and those are nice upgrades, that have proven benefits IMO.

Thanks for your input. I didn't think the upgrades would increase the value (even though they cost me a pretty penny). I was hoping they wouldn't decreaase the value. The Solen's smoothed the midrange quite nicely. I have the original boxes and the original manuual still. Thanks again! I think I paid $1,450 new in 1989.

They certainly shouldn't remove value, those are fine choices in upgraded crossover components. Good luck!
