That's one of my bucket list amps ! Very scarce and very, very $$$$

I had one for a short time, and although it was a fine amp, I found it to be soul-less when paired with my 2.3tl's. If you want to get a Sunfire Signature, I found the 400x5 and the 425x5 to sound better with SDA's.
The best one I ever had however was the TGA7401... I should have kept that one. You should be able to find one of these new far easier and for less money than the 600/2The Gear... Carver "Statement" Mono-blocks, Mcintosh C2300 Arcam AVR20, Oppo UDP-203 4K Blu-ray player, Sony XBR70x850B 4k, Polk Audio Legend L800 with height modules, L400 Center Channel Polk audio AB800 "in-wall" surrounds. Marantz MM7025 stereo amp. Simaudio Moon 680d DSD

How about a 300 x 2 and use it for sides rather than a 600 x 2 for the front. Have you tried that. If so what did you think? I plan on moving the 1c to the rear and using the 425 for front, rear and center. Then put the 11t on the sides and use the recevier900 for them.Too much **** to list....

My Sunfire works great with my 1.2's - awesome power for some power hungry speakers!Main System: Polk SDA SRS 1.2 Speakers, Sunfire Signature 600~two Amp, Carver C-16 Preamp, Carver TX-11b Tuner, Marantz 6350Q TT, Philips CDR-775 Recorder, Teac V-707RX Cassette Deck, Signal Cable Double Run Speaker Cable
Upstairs Den: Marantz 2325 Receiver, Marantz 5220 Cassette Deck, Marantz HD-880 Speakers, Marantz 6370Q TT
Exercise (Kabuki speaker) Room: Kenwood KR-9600 Receiver, Pioneer CS-99a Speakers, Sansui SP-X9000 Speakers (not pretty, but LOUD! ) -
the thought still rolls around in my head that I doubt much does sound as good as those tube amps john built. i wonder if that played in the perception of musicality?Too much **** to list....

Not to toot my horn too loudly, but my tube amps are among the best amps I have ever heard. But no... they had no bearing on my impressions of the 600/2. I sold it long before they were making music and never made a direct comparison. I did make several comparisons between all of the different sig/amps and the TGA-7401 however. I found the 7 channel Sigs to be a bit more musical than the rest. A huge factor in my impressions, I think, was the ability to bi-amp from the Cinemas. The 7401 sounded the best likely because it was newer and had better caps and the latest thinking with regards to the tracking-downconverter design. The Gear... Time to biamp I think. I put the 1c on the sides and the 2.3 in the front of course. it is intense as it is. I turned my sub off and actually unplugged it. The 2.3 outrun my sub and a new config is in the works.Too much **** to list....

I am using a 300x2 Sunfire on the bottom end of my SRS 1.2TLs with McIntosh MC30 mono blocks on the top half - unbelievable sound, best bass I've ever heard and sublime mid/highs.
Can't agree more with the tube comments on the SDA speakers. Have 2Bs and have had 1Cs, both sound great with modest tube amps. Running the 2Bs now with Dynaco ST70 and the sound is incredible. -
I had the distinct pleasure of hearing my newly acquired 2.3 on a Cronus Magnum during the audition. Gonna have to do something tube that's for darn sure.Too much **** to list....
