new stereo system

I have been enjoying my pair of RTI A4?s (plus a psw110 I think) powered with a HK 3490 for over a year now and I am really happy.
Now I want to get into floorstanders. I want a budget stereo system; Not a basshead my self but I do like bass. Irather stay stereo with floorstanders; if I really need a sub I rather go bookshelfs again plus sub. I looked into the TSi 400 and a HK 3390 (for the BS system and move the 3490 to the floorstanders) but I am not sure If I need a sub. In Mexico Polk Audio is not easy to get, so I will purchase in the States. Any sugestions? I do need an amp of course.
Thanks in advance to the comunity!

It's hard to tell what you're looking for exactly. It sounds like you're looking for a pair of floorstanders and a 2-channel power amp. Is that correct? What is your budget? Do you want something that sounds similar or different than the RTi's?2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses
Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's -
a pair of floorstanders and a 2-channel amp; you are right! I love my RTI?s so it is safe to say something similar.

What's your total budget for these two pieces?
If you like the RTi's, then look at the RTi floorstanders like the RTiA9 or RTiA7.
I would not go to the TSi, as that is a lower level series than the RTi.
Tons of options on amps, depending on budget. I'd personally look for something on the warmer side to mate well with the somewhat bright RTi's... something like a Parasound or B&K. Other good options would include Adcom, Rotel, NAD, Carver etc.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

trying to keep my budget as low as possible I looked into this:

Why not use that money towards an integrated amp to power your current speakers. It will be an upgrade from your H/K. Just a thought.

Interesting organ; any suggestions?

That is exactly what I was thinking. An integrated will make quite a difference. How much $$?Vinyl, the final frontier...
Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
Look at my rig; something arround those lines; 300 to 400 ish. May considered used gear from a reputable seller.

I personally enjoy NAD on my RT speakers. Here's one @ $300 brand new... http://nadelectronics.com/products/hifi-amplifiers/C-316BEE-Stereo-Integrated-Amplifier
If you go used, you can buy an early 2000 model. $400 will buy you a much more powerful unit in the used market from 10 years ago.
What is your source? -
Thanks organ. I had an old, good quality I was told, Sony CD player but it died on me. So now it is mostly the PC and whatever we can plug to the HK. What I want is to upgrade the sound via speakers or as you suggested via an integrated amp. So I am really open to suggestions. I am just tumbling my way into audio stuff.

Keep an eye on the flea market. Good prices from people you can trust.Vinyl, the final frontier...

Still lacking some posts to do that!

Sounds like you're running a multi rig (movies/music). Is this correct? Is your PC the music source? To get good sound, you should be running it off a DAC or have a decent sound card with RCA outs. Running a headphone jack-to-RCA converter is a bad way. Let us know how you have it connected. If you're currently running via optical, almost all 2ch integrated amps won't accept it.
Just wanna make sure everything is compatible. -
only 53 posts for you. try pm the person listing the ad.

I do have a DAC; it was a gift so I am not sure of the brand/model but it does work wonders.
