I am ready to jump into the world of power amps and am looking for a
Parasound HCA 1200 or Parasound HCA 1200 MK II power amp in excellent cosmetic and working condition.
I will be using it to power a pair of Polk SDA 2B tl speakers, as well as (occasionally) a pair of Dahlqusit DQ 10 speakers.
I will also need a nice pre amp in the future...but one thing at a time (so says my wallet, haaa).
Thank you.

There was a HCA in the FS section.I own the 1200 II and love it."if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

Thanks, tophatjohnny. Unfortunately the HCA 1200 that was in the fs section sold about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't ready to buy at that time and missed out on it. I was still researching amps and also trying to save up some money after a recent purchase of a pair of Polk SDA 2B tl speakers.

Sounds like you will be using an AVR as a pre for now. Nothing wrong with that, but you might want to consider an amp with a 12v trigger. It will turn on when you turn your AVR on. It's a convienence thing, but nice to have. Parasound 1500a has a 12v trigger.

Thanks, deron. I will be using my vintage Yamaha CR 2020 receiver as a pre until I am able to get a decent pre amp in a few months. I am not sure what kind of pre amp to get - Adcom, Parasound, etc - but I will be patient and look into pre amps after I get the power amp. I can only afford a power amp for now so I will have some time to research different pre amps. Please let me know if you have any suggestions regarding what pre amp would be a good match for the Parasound HCA 1200 or 1200 MK II. Thanks again.

If you get a Parasound pre, you shouldn't have any impedence issues. There are a lot of great pre amps to be had for a decent price. Really just depends on what you will be hooking up to it. -
bump. I am still looking for a nice Parasound HCA 1200 or HCA 1200 MK II.
Thanks.
