couple items up for grabs......

Well, the whole 'vintage' rig thing is going to pan out like I hoped PLUS having a new furnace installed to the tune of 3 G's (being installed as I type) has caused me to reevaluate the hoard of gear that I have. Besides, much as I try, I'll NEVER be able to capture the essence of pure testosterone that IS George Grand....
Up for grabs:
KLH Model 22 speakers
3.5" (or so) cone tweeter / 8" woof. 1960's vintage
Cosmetics are good, couple nicks here and there but nothing terrible. Grills are in tact and in good shape with both KLH logos in tact.
Good sounding speakers from the LEGENDARY Henry Kloss who practically invented affordable hifi. I want to keep these speakers but the reality is that I'll never use them a whole lot and space here is at a premium and I'd rather see them go to someone who will appreciate them.
I'm asking 40 dollars plus shipping.
Marantz 2238B receiver
Big, hefty classic receiver from Marantz before they went in to the toilet. Silver face with blue backlighting.
I picked this up a few days ago. Cosmetically good, the only issue is that the top left corner of the faceplate is bent back a little. Looking at it, you don't notice it and there aren't any scratches. The pots were pretty dirty, I shot 'em up with Deoxit and seems to have about cured it. Also, the fuse lights behind the tuner are out, replacment fuse lights can be had on ebay for 5 bucks (with intructions) and can be replaced easily. Classic Marantz sound, ultra cool Gyro touch tuner, excellent phono stage..etc etc.
I don't have a digital camera but here is a link with pics and info on the receiver:
http://www.classic-audio.com/marantz/2238b.html
Asking 75 plus ship.
If you are interested, shoot me an email, PM or post here. I'll give it a couple days and then take it to audiogon.
Thanks!

There will be about 6 people appreciating them! The 22's are going in the lab at work so there will probably be another 10-15 people in the next room over who may or may not appreciate them too! But, nuts to them!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

All the stuff arrived today! It's in excellent condition! A little wear and tear but what can I expect for equipment that is older than I am? Well, maybe not the C-1 but whose counting?
Anyway, the KLH 22's will be perfect for the lab at work. They aren't too big at all and they have a very rich sound when hooked up to the tube amp and BSR EQ. They look good too. I did lose one of the binding posts though. Like a big dummy, I didn't check to see if anything was loose, I turned the speaker over and the binding posts popped out. I found one but the other escapes me at this time. A quick fix with a computer harddrive screw and I'm back in business!
The C-1 is in perfect working order! I hooked that up to my KLH 17's that I got from George. Along with that Behringer tube based parametric EQ, it sounds flat out incredible! It too is in very good shape cosmetically.
So the 22's are going to work. They are hooked up to a Onkyo pre-amp. Signal sources for the Onkyo pre-amp are an Onkyo tuner and a Minetek DVD/CD/MP3 player. The output signal is going to a BSR EQ-3000 and then into an 8 watt x 2 tube amp kit from AES.
The C-1 is handling source mangement for the KLH 17's and between the C-1 and the amp is a Behringer Parametric EQ. That will be going into another tube amp kit most likely. The setup is so clean and simple I don't want to mess with it by throwing a crappy cheapo solid state amp at it. I'll have to find a tuner and CD player for it but for right now, it's doing fine with my Sony DVD/CD player.
Anyway, solid deals! I owe you one!Expert Moron Extraordinaire

John,
Glad to hear that everything made it ok! I always get paranoid about what happens to things during shipping and so forth.
Anyway, I'm thrilled that you are happy with the gear!
