I'm looking at a set of TSI400's, a CS20 and a PSW505. My question is would an Onkyo TX-NR616 have enough power to get good sound from this setup? Knowing nothing about wires and stuff I'm looking at 16ga wire and seawell deadbolt banana plugs.
I've never had anything beyond computer speakers or a bookshelf system. This system is going to be for music and movies. Not sure if I should get another set of speakers for the rear, trying to stay within a set budget right now.
thanks!

The 616 will have enough power, but for $150 more I would go to amazon and get a TX-NR709 or $160 more will get you a 717. It will have pre outs like lasareath mentioned and save you from upgrading down the road.

Thanks all, your input is really appreciated!!!!
I'm checking into monster cable and I'll look at the monoprice plugs also.
The 717 would mean waiting another 3 months, I'll have to do a little more figuring. -
Have you checked Accessoriesforless.com?

i have some of those monster plugs as well, easy to use, but hard to fit with 11 AWG that i have, expensive too for what they are, i paid 20 for 2 pair, although the monster are very secure as well, they didnt state whether they are brass or copper, and i didnt feel like running a file over one to find out2 Channel(work in progress):DAC: Schiit modi 2 uberAmp:Parasound 1200 MK IISub:RBH 1010-SEP Speakers: Monitor 5A peerlesscurrently running some krk rokit 3g since the HK pre outs died and i need to start breaking everything down to move in a couple monthsHeadphones:Source: tidalDAC: schiit modius epre: schiit sysAmp: AQ dragonfly black/ schiit magni2 Cans: Velodyne V-True, Grado SR225i, sennheiser x drop gaming headsetPC:DAC: schiit modius e(over spdif)pre: schiit sysspeakers: prenous eris 5 xtSub: Earthquake Sound MiniMe-P63most of my comments are passing on of info, im a noob, im just trying to help how i can, if im wrong or out of place to comment, dont hesitate to let me know "WITH WILLING HEARTS AND SKILLFUL HANDS, THE DIFFICULT WE DO AT ONCE, THE IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A BIT LONGER, WITH COMPASSION FOR OTHERS. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

At newegg, you can request a price alert email and they'll notify you when the item's price hits that point. That way you don't have to keep checking back and wondering if you missed a price reduction. It works well, I used it for my DSWPRO550wi's. -
Gunner, welcome to Club Polk. The Onkyo 709 at Accessories4less for about $440 including shipping is an outstanding buy. This unit is factory refurbished and carefully checked and is even more likely than a brand-new unit to be trouble-free.
As to a comparison with the 717, the 709 has been a frequent suggestion of mine, but I consider the 717 to be unacceptable. In a rather bizarre marketing move(apparently intended to separate the 818 more clearly from it)the key Audyssey provision was downgraded two steps from MultEQ XT to 2EQ, which doesn't apply room EQ to the sub channel, which probably is the area that needs it most.
