They have always prayed on the saying "there's a sucker born every minute". They wouldn't continue to be in business if they didn't have a customer base and it's based on that statement.

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Puritan Audio PSM136 Pwr Condtioner & Classic PC's | Legend L600 | Roon Nucleus 1 w/LPS - Tubes add soul!

My favorite improvement item was a phone number you would call, after paying a nominal fee, and then they would play a "special" purifying signal over the phone. You'd rest the phone near your system and let the signal do it's magic.
Not too much different from not changing your socks until your favorite team wins the Super Bowl (not saying that's what I did, mind you).
