What's going on with Polk's distribution channels?

Man, I was thinking that in a city of 4 million I'd be able to audition a pair of Lsi's, somewhere. Great Indoors no longer has them, and the other locations listed are contractors that do home installs. What's up wit dat? I guess Polk is going to go the way everyone else is with strict internet sales. Mom and pop audio finally is dead. I guess those who foresaw weren't lying to us 8 years ago. Come to think of it, there aren't too many hi-fi places listed in the phonebook anymore. Oh well, audio critics now take on an even heftier, more powerful, role in the new info age. Word of mouth is gold.

    What city are you in DjReef? I am in Washington state and I have to go to Idaho to listen to them. I feel your pain.

    There's a new Fry's in Renton. Have you looked there? I haven't made it up there yet but I heard they carried Lsi's

    the houston fry's doesn't have the Lsi's?

    i'm pretty sure the Austin Fry's has them.

    No, I haven't been there yet. I go to school in Spokane right now. I am planning on going to Fry's, just to check it out, sometime over my winter break when I go back home to Seattle. I guess I have to retract my statement then. I forget about them, since they are new and all to Washington.

    heard the LSI series over the weekend at fry's in renton
    too hard to audition them cause of noise (day after thanksgiving sale and all), but they sounded pretty nice, but not nice enough to give up my sda's.

    I'm in Dallas, TX. Same deal - no Polk dealers anymore with LSi. I just got off the phone with Great Indoors sales - get this - the guy told me that LSi series is being discontinued and that new speakers are on the way..... He was pretty sure... Is there truth to it?

    BTW if you want to try Internet sales, crutchfield has them with free shipping -catch is that you'll have to pay back shipping if you don't like them.

    so neither of the two Fry's in Dallas carry the Lsi's?

    The Austin Frys doesnt have them either, I went there before I ordered mine to hear them. I couldn't find them anywhere in Austin, so I just bought them, and hoped for the best. I heard the RTi so I knew about what I was getting into.
