I listened to it on Spotify. It is definitely a different style than his previous recordings. I do plan to purchase it.

Additionally, I've been a die-hard fan of Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers as well as their spin-off groups such as The Meters, etc. since the 70's. I was sad to learn that the Neville Brothers will not be performing at the 2013 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The Neville Bros. were more of a spin off of the Meters than the other way around.
If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

I actually use Aaron Neville, Louisiana 1927 as one of my demo/benchmark recordings.

It is what keyed me into my RTAs having a bad tweeter.

Will definitely check this one out.

How can you go wrong with an album of doo-wop. Check out the Jive Five's original version on Youtube of the title song

No, I never saw the PBS special, I'll have to check that out for sure, thanks for the info. I think this is the link to the youtube of the jive five doing My True Story, which Keith Richards apparently listened to for hours on end in his room while they were making Aaron Neville's new album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=glOMdK8gfbo
