Eosone RSF-1000s
So I have searched high and low for more information and opinions on these behemoths.
To not much avail.
The only solid info I can find is that they were made by/with Polk and designed by an Infinity engineer.
They have in each speaker a pair of 10" subs (one powered by the internal 120w amp and one passive, powered by external amplification). They have 2 6.5" mid drivers...one firing forward and the other on the rear firing rearward.
There is also 1 4" front facing mid. And a pair of 1" tweeters...one facing each way.
Dimensions put them slightly bigger than my RTA-15TLs with a 20lb weight advantage.
I have read nothing but good things about them around the web. Some of the other models were good as well but didn't get the praise the flagship model did.
The reason I am posting this is I have an opportunity to pick up a pair for a SCREAMING deal. I made the mistake of lowballing the seller only to have him accept my lowball offer.
He says they are missing the grilles and the 2 10" dustcaps are dimpled on one but he says they sound fine.
Grilles are no biggie...I am crafty and handy with the wood workin' tools.
The dimpled dustcaps bother me from a perfectionist standpoint.
Other than the above, he says they have some normal wear and tear but look good from 5'+ away.
So my dilema is such...
I really dig them. They have a vibe about em that says "I am a badass". And they get pretty good reviews for both movies and music...which is what my living room system is all about.
I can sell my Monitor70 SIIs for more than what I would be paying for these easily.
But my wife insists if I do end up with the Eosones, I would definitely have to sell the Monitors.
What would you do?
I like big obnoxious but good sounding speakers. And being black makes them match the speakers they are replacing. I will also be able to shelve my 2 Klipsch Synergy subs (not that I don't like them but less gear to achieve the same result is always good).

I tell mine..."at least I am not hangin' in the bars drinking and looking at women!" After the second pair of speakers came into the house I have not heard another word about my addiction to audio gear!
Nice looking speakers. I would check them out for sure if the price is "SCREAMING" like you say.

Let's just say that they are less than half of what they typically go for. And that's them. The top cap is piano black but removable (I am thinking an exotic hardwood...)
And the 6.5 and tweeter have a twin set on the back for that whole bipole goodness.
Looking at those pictures, they are almost in identical condition.
Only problem I have with the whole deal is that the seller is moving and doesn't currently have them hooked up. Although, with the price, I could replace half the drivers and still be below typical selling price...LOL."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

So what is the asking price?--Gary--

Asking was $500.
Offer was $200.
Response was "When can you pick them up?"
I made the offer in hopes he would shoot me down and save me the trouble of explaining to my wife why I was bringing home more stray puppies.
He really failed to cooperate."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

lol....I would get them if I were you and had the cabbage. Better to beg forgiveness than ask for permission as the saying goes.--Gary--

The wife just rolled her eyes at me. LOL. She only gets worried when I ask about withdrawals from the joint savings account. As long as I am using my own mad money, she just shakes her head and asks when I will be home.
These are sort of one of those whim things that could be a total motherlode of a find or it could be a complete flop.
If I did it (which I am seriously leaning towards) then I would sell off all of my Monitor Series 2 gear and replace them with more from the Eosone lineup for timbre matching.
The center is odd to me. The woofers (2) are angle toward the back of the cabinet while the tweeter is on the front and a second tweeter on the rear. It has a smaller footprint than my CS1 and is a sealed enclosure design but with my 125 wpc amp, I am not too concerned about efficiency.
The surrounds (if I go with the surrounds and not the lower level towers) are a wedge shaped bipole design. Single woofer, dual tweeters. With the woofer firing straight out and the 2 tweeters firing angled left and right.
I remember hearing the smaller towers in this series back when Best Buy stocked them and wished I had the money at the time to snatch em up. So I am sort of jonesing for one of the toys I couldn't afford when I was a younger man.
Plus, absolute worst case scenario, I get em home, don't dig em quite as much as I thought and am forced to...GASP talk my uncle, the speaker hoarder into a trade. LOL. He loves random rare **** like this."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Buy 'em! You can sort it out and decide what to keep after you've given them a good demo, but it sounds like they might be keepers.
Pure speculation here, but their driver configuration looks very similar to what you find in Definitive Technology Towers. At the point in time these were built I think Sandy Gross (one of the co-founders of Polk) had left Polk and started DT. I wonder if this was a response to him, or maybe a collaboration between him and Polk/Infinity?"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
The rumor mill says that Eosone was brought about to compete with Def Tech's higher end offerings.
There apparently was some technology toe stepping (patent infringements etc) and as such, the Eosone entity was sued and ultimately disolved.
On the 97 financials for Polk, Eosone is listed as an asset of the company. It outlines the product offerings and pricing but doesn't elaborate beyond that. It is quite an interesting read because it is about 75% rumor and innuendo and another 25% somewhat hazy facts.
There are a few posts here on them with Ken responding to a couple of them and directing the posters to a specific extension with the Polk CS number to get help with these.
Of course, if this turns into another project, it will become my 4th active project "on the bench". And that is starting to spread me a little thin. Fortunately, the cold and weather have kept me inside a lot more often than not this winter."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Interesting! Became aware of Eosone products when I came across a pair of pristine RSF 600's. Did some checking and found that Arnie Nudell of Infinity was the designer but had left Infinity some time prior. He now heads Genesis Technologies,a very high end speaker company. Design was to have rear firing drivers out of phase with fronts creating a resonant sound field that anyone in the room would enjoy no matter where the listening position was. This was a good product and can see and hear Polks influence. Too bad about the legal stuff!! The models I've heard are really quite impressive. Try keeping all three....Wife current pair and the new ones!!!

My wife uses the argument that they are bigger than my RTA-15TLs upstairs.
We live in a modest townhouse we bought to allow us to save up enough money to buy our lot we want outright and pay for about half of the construction of our house up front.
But back to the topic, the upstairs has the 2 channel system with my 15TLs and downstairs is the 7.2 system. The key here being, with the Eosone's built in subs, I can "shelf" the pair of Klipsch subs I have or even move them to my 2 channel system (although, the only time the 15TLs lack bass is when I break out the Sir Mix A Lot... ). The rest of the Monitors would be sold to fund picking up the rest of the 7.2 in Eosone products. Centers and surrounds seem to show up quite frequently on eBay at reasonable prices.
Of course, my mentality with the Monitors was to ultimately have the whole 7.2 system in the new house be all floor standers.
Sort of the difference between 6 of one and half dozen of another though really hehe."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Well SHIITE.
Looks like I am a victim of my own cleverness.
The seller told me to bring along my amp/pre if I wanted to listen to them before buying.
So I packed up my DV-47, UPA-2 and RSP-1068 and headed to his place. 2 hours later, we have everything hooked up and fired up.
I pop in a mix CD I made from some FLAC files. Aaron Neville, The Doors, The Who, Grateful Dead, Mozart...It's 20 songs of gloriousness designed to give a great range of listening. I even have some Two Steps From Hell movie scores on there.
First song is Aaron Neville "Louisiana 1927".
Honestly sounded like I was in a concert hall listening to Aaron sing.
These things are absolutely amazing for what they are. The highs were crisp and solid without being harsh.
The piano sounded like I was standing 10 feet from it. The violins...same. It was an incredibly close and detailed but wide and "spacious" soundstage.
I next keyed up The Doors "LA Woman"...and then Rush "Tom Sawyer"...It's all sounding awesome.
I happen to glance at the seller and see that he is standing there in virtually stunned silence...I am now sort of confused.
I asked him what he had been running them on (He was moving so most of his gear was packed up).
He said he had been running them on some Sony AVR he had gotten from Best Buy at the same time he bought the speakers. He said that he hadn't spent much on it because he didn't have much left after the speakers.
He then looks at me and is sort of shaking his head. I kind of chuckle and say "What?"
He says that he just can't believe how much better these sound on my gear...like he is listening to completely different speakers.
He says that hearing what they can do he is now pretty certain he doesn't want to sell them. Instead, he wants to buy new gear to hear what they can really do.
I am sort of floored...I just drove out here, set up all of my gear only to have you say you aren't selling your speakers now??!?
We talk some more with me trying to convince him to sell but he becomes more and more adamant that he just can't do it now that he knows what he was missing out on all this time.
So I pack up my gear and head home.
Such an effin waste of effin time. Eff me in the effin effer!
So disappointed right now. But then I am also happy that I could add another convert to the fold. *sigh* Karma, yer a ****."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

^Consider yourself passing along the love of music to yet another budding audiophile.
My uncle has a 10.1 channel Eosone setup in his 10x10 home theater room using 2 floorstanders as a center, 2 more floorstanders as left/right, 2 bigger floorstanders as his wides and 2 sets of bi-pole dipoles no the walls.
Its a ridiculous setup but not even close to setup properly lol. Still sounds decent thought....
Maybe next time dont bring over such good gear lol. Just bring an amp, your iphone and a 3.5mm to dual RCA connector just to verify it works."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Sorry you didn't score the Eosones! I'm sure there are more out there though! As for your wasted trip, think of it as BOHICA...BEND OVER HERE IT COMES AGAIN!!!

I am happy I could show him what he was missing. Still disappointed though. Guess I will find solace this weekend in continuing building my audio rack."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Okay lesson learned.
Just take enough to test speakers are working, not to actually see what they can do.

I know this thread is getting a little old, but I also have the eosone rsf-1000 speakers and surround speakers. I wasn't a fan of the center speaker although I regretted later not getting it. All in great working order. I'm in the debate stage on selling these, but a great offer may get me there. I am trying out some definitive tech speakers I got a great deal on and really like them. Just have to say, the eosone speakers are great speakers and wish they would have had the chance they deserved to build their own audience to preserve them...

I am new to this website. I have the Eosone RSS705 set in white (5 RSA 100 speakers and an RSP 910 sub woofer). We have moved to a new house no longer have a use for these. We used them in a home theater system since we bought them and they still work perfectly. I have loved these speakers since I bought them.
I will probably post them on EBay and my company website. If anyone is interested, please advise. I know the individuals in this forum can appreciate what they are getting with these speakers.
