Speaker stand for lsi7
My lucky day on CL. Scored a pair new in box lsi7(Cherry) for < 1/2 of Amazon selling price to complete my lsi (lsi15Cherry, lsiC, lsiF/X, lsi7 PSW650 sub) 7.1 set up. I have the Onkyo 809 (just down grade from H/K 7550D and save some money for my Emo xpa-5 and an Adcom GFA555II). Considering use the lsi7 as front height or back so I am looking for a stand. For experts out there, will this stand hold up the lsi7? If I use as back I need to have them stand over my couch. Is 30-inches stand to hight or to low? Should I go for the 24-inches for more stability?

I just ordered the exact same stand for my Lsi9s. I did a lot of read and the sanus stands get a lot of good reviews.
A few things I plan on doing to increase stability is adding sand into the stand if possible, and using blu-tack or some sort of poster putty to help anchor the speaker to the stand.HT Rig Samsung 64F8500 |Pioneer Elite BDP-52FD|Pioneer Elite VSX-32| Two Carver TFM-15cb Bridged for mains|Polk Audio RTiA5 Cherry|Polk Audio CsiA6 Cherry|Polk Audio T-15 Heights|Polk Audio FXia6 Surround|DIY 8cuft Dayton Ultimax 15" powered with a Crown XLS1000

I read many reviews on this series too and look like they are good for the money and hopefully match the color too. What color did you order? I saw a black new on Ebay for a lot less.MAIN:

I wouldn't say that 30" is too high. Mine are perched atop a couple of JBL L80T towers that are almost 60 lbs each and 33" x 14" x 12". Of course my office chair is set a little high! But those LSis aren't going anywhere! But yeah, it's better and more aesthetic to have some nice stands! Good suggestions above!

I think these will work for LSi7s, but I wouldn't put LSi9s on them. According to Sanus website they are for speakers up to 25lbs. The 9s are 33lbs each. -
I searched around. There are a few people using these stands with lsi9 and similar sized speaker. I dont think sanus even offers a stand that they state supports more then 25lbs.
I dont have kids or large pets so I an confident I will be okHT Rig Samsung 64F8500 |Pioneer Elite BDP-52FD|Pioneer Elite VSX-32| Two Carver TFM-15cb Bridged for mains|Polk Audio RTiA5 Cherry|Polk Audio CsiA6 Cherry|Polk Audio T-15 Heights|Polk Audio FXia6 Surround|DIY 8cuft Dayton Ultimax 15" powered with a Crown XLS1000

I own these and I've used them for LSi9's and am currently using them with my LSiM703. I have them filled with sand and I've been very happy with them. 24" seems a little low to me, but I guess it depends on your seated position.

On a side note, I have my 7's as surround speakers on a shelf. Also used them with B-tech 55 wall mounts with success. I offered them up to another member, but never heard back from them. I'd sell the mounts for cheap if you were interested in going that route.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
I've used the exact same stand for a pair of 7's. No problem!!!! Can't help you regarding the height thoughMain Rig:

Those stands are crap. However, their Ultimate stands are excellent.specd_out wrote:A few things I plan on doing to increase stability is adding sand into the stand if possible,

I have the black ones. Some advice, do not tighten the screws much at all, only use a "hand" screwdriver anymore than barely snug and its split city. I easily split mine sanus replaced the broken pieces but just saying barely snug makes them plenty sturdy.Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. I had those stands and sent them back. They are not very good. Much better products out there.
-
Do you own one of those "crap"?
As a matter of fact, I did. Total crap. I replaced them with the Ultimate stands the next day.I saw the ultimate stands but for the price someone could just upgrade to lsi15.
$300.00 more isn't going to get you a pair of LSi 15's. Besides, who said they are upgrade!?!Political Correctness'.........defined

I just got the cheery ones for some AV123 speakers, not bad at all for the money. Actually very solid.

Look guys, for a speaker stand to do its job it needs to be non-resonant and have mass. The more mass, the better. Therefore, look for stands that can be shot loaded, which excludes all the wooden stands that I'm aware of.
Sanus did an excellent job when they designed the Ultimate stand. You can read about the features on their site. Skylan stands are also excellent, completely non-resonant and I highly recommend them. This truly is a case of you get what you pay for.Political Correctness'.........defined

It'll be just fine. They're is always "better " something. The weight of the speakers add the needed mass and mdf doesn't seem to resonate terribly.Oh, Listen here mister.
