...interesting story that is a crossover to several threads. I was selling these speakers on Audio Circle several years back for friends. A few forum members were interested. When they arrived with their music selections for audition....WHAT a surprise. All 3 brought "Jazz at the Pawn Shop" and a Patricia Barber cd or record. Ever since my favorite reference cd has been "Jazz at the Pawn Shop" .
...Also in the Baltic Birch cabinet thread.....These take the design to a beautiful effect. You can use any wood veneer and expose the plywood edges.
These speakers had a unique design because the designer was into Classical and Jazz. Needed to be placed forward into the room. Awesome sound when placed right.
They were to expensive for me at the time, but I loved the experience. Designer used Kimber Kable wire for inners and recommened them for speaker cables.
They were are on casters, so could be moved when needed.
If I remember correctly, I was driving them with a Muse 100 amp and a Acurus RL 11 preamp.

Cool design... back in high school I had some hexagonal-shaped (as in, hexagonal if viewed from overhead) speakers that were designed to double as coffee-tables, marble tops and all. I picked them up from a garage sale and ditched them before I left for college because I didn't have the space. Sound was so-so, but they were a really cool looking design. I just have no idea what they were called or who made them. Any guesses?5.1 theater - Pioneer SC-07, Mirage OMD-CC center, 4 x Mirage Omnisats, Boston Acoustics VPS-210 sub
2.1 living room - NAD 7400 integrated, 2 x Platinum Audio Duos, MIT Terminator4 cables

FOR SALE - Genesis Servo-10 sub, Genesis Servo-12 amp; Martin Logan Dynamo sub; Mirage MM-6 sub; Harman Kardon DPR-1001 7.1 receiver -
There are some pretty "sharp" fellows on this site! But I don't know about that shape. Kinda reminds me of things I used to see in my daughter's Preschool, many years ago! More suited for play than playing! Like a square Crayola! lol

I am guessing you've never heard a pair of Obelisks, then. They're excellent loudspeakers.

Where is everyone's sense of "humor"? Did we misplace it? Seriously, I was making a JOKE! Now, not only do my "students" not get the jokes, fellow Polkies don't get them either. And, we won't have to worry about an ignore list because no one will understand anything I say! lol
Crayola crayons--what they "look" like NOT what they "sound like"? OK, I guess that's not funny to anyone but me? Good thing I didn't go into "stand-up comedy"! Take a look at this: "My Critics and I", Eugene Ionesco for a further discourse on why "others", often, don't get us.

I don't know whether George was yanking your chain or mine. At any rate - there are plenty of other speakers worth making fun of
as to the sound of Crayola - here's my favorite sounding Crayola... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EELEjeYzfjM -
