I just got this center speaker with some tower speakers. Well I was wondering if the light on the front center of the speaker shuts off when on auto ( for subwoofer) or even when i turn it off, because when i first plugged it in, the swith was on off and the light was on, and it remained on until i unplugged it. Or is it normal for the light to stay on. It would be most appreciated if someone who has this center speaker or someone that knows about the speaker to give me this info.
thanks
thanks

Yes, the green light will remain on as long as there is power to the speaker, (plugged in) regardless of position of sub switch...off...on...auto.
When a signal is passed to the speaker, you will hear a slight click, which means the sub has kicked in. I used to think it only happened when some sort of electrical impulse was passed to the sub from the amp/rec. but I hear it click anytime there is loud vibration near the speaker, as in my dogs playing around in the area.

The light is functioning as the AC pilot light and it never turn off if the speaker remains unplug. Can you verify the model of your speaker again? Is it the CS2000p center channel speaker? I do not know if Polk ever produces that version...

You have never heard of this speaker? well go to the club shopping page and you will find it there for $1200

I don't see a CS2000p center channel either.
However, I do see a CS1000p at that price.

Change the #2 to a #1 and there ya have it. The CS1000p, not CS2000p.
Hmmm...a CS2000p, if it were made, would be way monstrous!!! It would probably be like me lying one of my SRS 2.3's on it's side and using it as a center.
IT'S CRAZY MAN!!!!

Polk is giving away Manuel ?? Besides the obvious ethical issues this raises, won't his family miss him?

The CS1000p weights 66 lbs, if Polk make the CS2000p, it will have the same weight as the PWS1200 (110lbs). So for the question of the light, yes, the light is the AC pilot light, it won't turn itself off unless you unlug the power, on some other speakers, sometimes the light is functioning as the amp light, and it will turn itself off if no signal is received for the amp or receiver...

Strange, I am also getting a manuel ... although not from Polk; you can get them online in roughly the same condition and capacity for labor, at about half of the price. I can't wait, he's supposedly (never know with UPS ;~) to arrive within five business days, and although he'll have a difficult time of it initially, I'm sure he's going to work out just fine for us. Hope this helps anyone with a similar interest in acquiring a manuel. Take care.

I was actually looking for a Chiquita or Rosalita, you know, one with big assets, if you know what I mean.

Sure, I know the model you're referring to; I had one delivered a few years ago, the poor thing's suffered an unusual amount of wear and tear and needs replacing. I'm in such a bind for time, a major hurry, that I was unable to wait for additional stock, and demanded that I be delivered whatever was available asap ... as in NOW! I don't have any experience with these particular type models, but if manuel doesn't work out, I have the option to upgrade.
