Well thanks to your advice, I just got a pair of new RTi70's to keep the fledgling HT system growing! I am not sure if the price was particularly good, but I am happy. Got them on Ebay for $530 for the pair, shipping and insurance included. I did a last minute check on Circuit City (how do you guys get these sick deals there????) but no RTi70's showed up.

I could have got the RTi100's for just $20 more, but I noticed at the last minute that they have a built in sub, which I do not want...gots to go easy on the bass for urban living so the neighbors do not cause problems.

Any tricks to setting them up? Just to refresh, I'm rocking the HKAVR225 (Harmon Kardon receiver) and have some old but good Bose that will play the surround role until my roomate moves out and I'll pick up a pair of RTi38's. Or another pair of RTi70's if I get them at that price. I can wait until next year. I have a CSi30 for the center channel.

I do not really understand all the set up functions (small, large, teh different Pro Logic settings, etc.) either.

Thanks for the advice so far, the speakers will be here in a few weeks hopefully.

The Small/large setting is used to determine which frequencies are sent to the speaker(s). If set to large, the receiver will send all of the frequencies to thatspeaker. If set to small the frequencies below the crossover setpoint will be sent to the via the LFE output. You didn't list a sub in your post so assuming that you don't have one, I would suggest that you set your mains to large and all others to small. If you haven't done so already, get an SPL meter to calibrate your setup. It's a lot better than doing it by ear. Do a search for Calibration or SPL Meter and you'll find plenty of info. Try this site as well:

There are quite a few DLPII modes, so the best thing to do is check out your manual. Most manufacturers put a discription of the various modes in there manuals.
