Parasound HCA-3500

For those who might be interested, I was perusing ebay for parasound stuff and came across a very clean HCA3500 (the 350wpc 160amp) beast of a 2ch amp! Just letting y'all know. I have no affiliation with the seller, just letting people know.

If only I had the $$$ myself.......

Wow. That is quite the clean example of this fabulous amp! I own its little bro, the 2200ii, which is no slouch, but I'd love to hear this girl sing!

I bet she goes for $1170, +/- $50.

Having had the HCA line first and now a halo, the difference in SQ is quite noticeable and worth the extra coin.

That thing looks like a beast! Doesn't it require a 20 amp electrical circuit?

Don't think so however it can pull 1200w so it'd probably be better to have one for sure!

I don't think this one needs 20amp. The HK Citation 7.1 requires 2500w and the manual says nothing about it.

Thats a huge load on a 15amp socket. Aren't regular plugs only 2000w? May be wrong.

But it's a local sale for yours where as the one on ebay was to whomever wanted it.

I don't think this one needs 20amp. The HK Citation 7.1 requires 2500w and the manual says nothing about it.

Hmmmm....it does say 2500 watts maximum, so running it on a 15 amp line is choking the crap out of it. A regular 15 amp line can supply 1800 watts maximum, a 20 amp line can supply 2400 watts maximum. NEC code states the max draw has to be 20% less than the rated maximum wattage, so you really need a 30 amp line like I have for my amp.

Spot on....I have 4 ea. Parasound HCA 1500a and a HCA 3500 along with 4 ea tube amps. I have installed 4 dedicated 20 amp circuits for my system. I really noticed it in my bass system's performance. These High current Amps need the current.
