Just sitting here listening to my favorite music I just thought to myself how lucky I am to have such a great system and all my toys. So much poverty out there and people just trying to make ends meet while I try talk my wife into wife into making my next big purchase in a way that I'm making self out to be so hard done by because I dont have a 3K dac. I think I get lost in the journey to nirvana sometimes and forget to stop and think about how privileged I am, anyone else feel like this

Absolutely. It is very easy to forget many people don't have squat, and live in squalor simply because they were born in the wrong place. I think that is one of the reasons for Thanksgiving. On the other hand, I have little sympathy for those who do have opportunity but waste it by not trying anything, and cling to stupidity to rationalize their choice.

Good post PFB. Awareness is a good thing.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Yep,it's nice to sit and enjoy the things we work hard for.But now and then you have to give a little to the less fortunate to keep the karma flowing.Just my thoughts.

I think that is cool myself, in this day and age, thinking about other people.
    I count my blessings also.

It is colder than Hell here. The local homeless shelter is full of women and children. Over 400 beds and every one is taken. Makes it hard to **** about improper imaging sometimes.

I don't feel too bad for the less fortunate. Everyone has the choice whether or not to better themselves. I am of the less fortunate and am on the path to bettering myself. I have a modest system with a total investment of about $200. I have had help with gifts and karmas to get where I am system wise. When you don't have the means to live the easy life you learn to budget and live with in your means. And if you are not well to do and do want some of the nicer things in life, you need to learn to be patient and wait for the right deal to come up. Having nice/high quality stuff can be had as long as you can live with out having the latest and greatest, and don't mind buying used. I have no pitty for people who can not pay their utilities, but yet have the money for cable/satellite, a high end cellphone with the most expensive plan and eat fast food 5 days of the week, and drive a 5 year old or newer mid level car. I do feel sorry for those who have fallen on hard times, and are struggling to get back on there feet as many have had this happen with out warning or any control over the situation. People get out of life what they put into it.

Not everyone has had the EXTENSIVE HELP you have had as a result of this forum.

I've been dealing with the hardest struggles in my life over the past 6 years. I honestly don't see a way out for another 6 years at which time I can finally begin enjoying life.

And while it may take what seem s a eternity to do basic mods and what not, the rewards are sweet. Just wish things didn't have to be so difficult to come by.

In times of dire need I have gotten help from this forum and am very grateful for it. My tuner and preamp were karmas, and I would have happily paid for either, it would have just taken time. I do feel for the guy who works 3 jobs and just can not get ahead. I just have no sympathy for the guy who works a couple days a week for minimum wage, collects welfare, and does nothing to better his situation, then complains about how unfair the world is. I do anything I can to help anyone I can, and it is part of why I like this forum so much. This place has a genuine brotherhood who is committed to helping one another, no it is not the only one, but it is one of the few. pep, I guess I did come off a little rude an mean sounding, I guess what I should have said is I don't feel sorry for those who accept that there is nothing better for them and condemn themselves to the lives they choose to live and complain that the world is against them. There are situations where people can do no better and I do feel sorry for them, but there are also those who choose it as a cop-out for trying and I feel no pain for there lack of trying.
