Quick question about 3.1TL's -- can they fit in a 2005 Camry?

I've brought Sony SSU-4000 around 46.5 inches tall in the Camry before (one in trunk another in the back seat) but these are 48" so not sure.
Also, no IC cable so can I test with a speaker cable crammed in the IC jack?
Thanks

Probably not the pair. maybe one at a time but that'd be pushing it.

That's what I thought and with a long drive, I don't want to take chances on the size.
I'll have to re-schedule so I can bring bigger vehicle.
BTW, what's a deal price without IC cable?
    He's asking $350.
I've to take some speaker cables in case they have modified jack and IC cable from CRS+ to test the SDA drivers.

Wow, 3.1TLs in a Camry? That'd be a tight fit.

The soundstage would be extremely limited, and you'd have a hard time spacing them far enough from the doors/windows to get the most out of their spatial effect. Can you get a Jensen for them?

But they'd look cool stopped at the intersection. and they sure would thump.

Haven't seen them in person so not sure if all drivers work and seller doesn't have pic of the back so no idea how good/bad the cabinet is. That all changes price drastically. Even if only 2 drivers or tweeters are out, that's another hundred.
Plus, he mentioned there is a nut in the back where the SDA cable goes.
I'm assuming someone replaced jack and put a custom jack for the cable.

I hauled a pair of Sony SSU-4000 that are 46.5" high so 1C's should fit fine.
    1C --> 11-1/2"D x 16-9/16"W x 44"H
    However, 3.1TL are 13-3/8"D x 15-3/4"W x 48"H.
48" high is the concern here.
If I can't close the door, then it's no good.
Plus, there is no hurry. I already have SDA-2B's and CRS+.
I'm trying not to buy more speakers but they show up and I get tempted.

I got my recently-bought SDA 2Bs in my 2005 Camry - one speaker in the trunk and one in the back seat. However, the SDA 2Bs are only 41" tall. They just fit, with about an inch or two to spare on each side. If the SDA 3.1TLs are 48" tall then they will not fit in a Camry. It would definitely be time for a truck.

Hehe... I know but I was thinking of going to seller's place during lunch time.
But after talking to him, there was no IC cable so I have to go home anyways to get the cable from other SDA's plus it was too far to drive during lunch break.

    That confirms it then.
    3.1TL's won't fit in Camry.
I'll have to bring SUV tomorrow at work and make plans to get few hours off during lunch time.

    One thing that concerns me.
Seller mentioned they are in a barn and last week, temp was below 0. Hope that doesn't mess anything up in the drivers/crossovers.

It *shouldn't*. Just make sure you let then acclimate to room temp before connecting them and going nuts.
Overnight is a good idea as it will let the interiors come up to temp as well.

I would be more worried about the damage done by mice, being in a barn.

    Got them!!! :loneranger:
All drivers work including tweeters and SDA driver.
One passive has small crease on bottom but not a rip.
Cabinets are black and look very good besides usual scratches, scuffs etc...
I assume they are painted at some point as I didn't see black 3.1TL's in Polksda site.
These do not seem as wide as the 2B's but little deeper.

No IC cable but I took my CRS+ pin/blade and it fits fine.
Now I need to make a custom cable for one of them.
Nothing fancy but at least something that can perform same as IC cable.

My 2B's are not bi-ampable but these are.
Need to check schematics to figure out what drivers are separately powered.

Also, now need to sell either 2B's or RTA-12C to get space back in the room.

Yes, I knew I could talk him down to around $200 but this guy is doing this for a living and I already had send him an offer of $250 that we agreed upon.
He buys and sells stuffs. His barn was full of stuffs and had a huge poster on the street 'Huge Sale'.
Plus these don't come too often so few bucks up/down not a huge deal.

    Still in my car.
2nd and 3rd photos are from the ad.

So now the question, what's different about SRS vs SDA?

    Deal of the century!

I was very happy to pay more than twice that for mine. But I was looking and looking for a pair that was as close to brand new as possible. And they are.

I paid more than double what you did and that was a steal for me. Enjoy although they don't look worth double the price paid.

Now mod them and don't look back.

Also, SDA is patented technology that is used in a variety of polk speakers. SRS is a term used for 'Signature Reference Speaker' and was exclusive to only be for the "best" models. These were polks flagship models.

I am curious - did they fit in your Camry after all?

I'm sure, they'll look much better once I wipe the dust and grime out.
I'd like to listen to them as it is for a while as they are already TL's.

All non-SRS have tweeter above the mids and SRS have tweeter in between mids in a vertical array.
    Is that a good assumption?

If you look at the picture I posted above, it's a SUV.
That was yesterday's question as I drove Camry yesterday and wanted to check them out.
However, after few replies and some dimensional answers (hehe, different SDA here...), I drove Lexus RX today and no problem fitting them with back seat folded.

    Congrats on a great deal!

I see you are in Denver, I saw a pair of mint looking SDA SRS 1.2's there last week but he wanted $3k. It was out of my price range but looks like a decent Polk market there.

Aren't those like some of the early 1Cs? Might need to attach a wire from the negative speaker wire terminal to the currently-unused terminal in the SDA interconnect socket. Then they're AI-1 compatible, which opens up your options for amplifiers.

    Define "separately powered".
