Is it worth a buy ($70) to experience DTS 5.1 on the first one of the series (which I think the best one)?

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I bought the Alien Legacy awhile back - I think the packaging is better than the newer revamp and the PQ/SQ are abought as good as it gets. The revamp is simply to keep reviving the series for the new Alien movies and Alien and Predator movie.

I asked for the quadrilogy for Christmas, it will be good enough for me.

Polkatese - There is a big thread in HTF on the quadrilogy, it may have some specifics for you. I personally only know it exists, no specifics :)
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Don't see enough to go out and buy over the Legacy set......
Just a revamp ploy for upcoming movies as I said. But I know the Legacy set was getting rare and pricy.

I only like the first 2. I thought the 2nd two sucked!

I'll stick with the ones I have. Not sure how much was actually added to the first one or how marked an improvement it is over the first DVD release.

    No excuses!

It was like a couple minutes - it was the deleted scene that was on the extras of the THX Legacy issue. Nothing like the second one.

just an FYI-the first 2 Alien movies from this new set will be available seperately in January. So no need to buy the whole set if you dont like the rest of the series (unlike the Indiana Jones set that forces you to buy the lame sequels)

the deleted scenes on the first release in Alien are now part of the movie via seamless branching so you can choose to watch the movie with the extra scenes or not.I do believe the new transfer and sound are a marked improvement over the original releases (at least on Alien)
If you go to www.thedigitalbits.com they have an extensive review on the whole set as well as the new transfers, etc..
Like I said you can buy Alien and Aliens separately sometime in January
