Trust this is the correct place to post a "hello"
Monitor 70s from the Polk E Bay store were delivered yesterday.
My wife & I are just blown away. Its been many decades since we owned decent loudspeakers.
A huge mistake corrected.
I'm not sure what to expect once they break in but as of now, I think a rock n roller or hip hop fan might be disappointed; but they are amazingly lifelike listening to orchestral & jazz which is perfect for us. I hear detail
and nuance that was unknown before. But, no reason for me to wax poetic - you all here know what I would say already.
Very impressed & pleased to be a Polk owner.

Welcome and great speaker. What do you power them with? They sound even better when adding an amp to drive them!---

The amp thing went right over my head - didn't realize the new coffee tables made noise too!
Yamaha RX V850 driving 2 channels for music only.
What should I expect as the speakers break in?
Also, I read elsewhere that the tweeters were prone to self destruction. As I am not filling an auditorium with sound, I assumed that this phenomena would likely not apply. I do have some ragged vinyl that is listened to on occasion. I'm assuming those pops, clicks & snaps will not unduly upset the Monitors.
Thanks for the welcomes. -
The Yamaha puts out 80wpc, adding a 200w amp to the Monitor 70s would really bring out what they are capable of. Just a thought, if you are happy then don't touch a thing and just enjoy. I think many of us are always looking for ways to improve what we have.
As to the break-in, I've just been going though this recently and not what to think. I listen 8hrs+ each day and think its hard to notice the changes as they have occured over time.---
