somewhat of a shocker(at least to me)

in my boredom i decided to take apart my B&W rocksolid that was FUBAR on arrival, and found a couple of things quite surprising. the first and most surprisind that all the internal wiring is aluminum, really B&W, aluminum? the second was that if they were to use a less conductive metal, why still use that dinky little 24AWG. the third and most obvious, why the hell does a highly renowned company like B&W outsource to Taiwan of all places, sure profit is important for a business but im sure that the quality from a country with a more refined electronics industry would be better for business, i would think that last thing any consumer would want is to open up their new speakers they poured a good chunk of money into and find"made in Taiwan". the third, and this is the fault of the seller or shipping service, was that the voice coil on the tweeter and woofer were torn from the cone/dome. i did get a full refund btw. the third was that the blade connectors on the tweeter were the same size for +/-, and on the tweeter there is no marking as to which is which, sounds like it could be a headache for the unsuspecting overly eager person doing work to the speaker. all i have to say is, i know why these weren't marketed directly as a B&W speaker.

    Taiwan has had a robust electronic industry for years. Whether any one specific manufacturer is shoddy or not can be found anywhere.

    you mean to tell me their's is as good or better than Japan's? and this is a 14 or 15 year old speaker at least
