Gevril. Breitling.

.....Breitling ?

Holy ****, .....
BREITLING ?

http://www.woot.com/plus/luxury-mechanical-timepieces

Now, on the off chance you may be saying to yourself, "Oh, I already have one", may I remind you what excellent gifts Breitlings make ? Not to mention 'karmas" ?
Sure, WOOT doesn't have an offering of the Breitling 'Aviator", but still ... a gift/karma is a gift/karma, right ?

'Dad, you ignorant cheap **** !'
Shhhhh....this plans really going to work this time

Luckily I don't have $5k laying around or that Breitling for Bentley would be mine. I just got into watches this last year and now I'm up to 6 time pieces. Could've got one really nice piece but instead I went having numerous nice pieces. Couple Movados, a Tag formula 1, a Tissot, and a couple cheaper ones, invicta and Seiko.

You have to be careful here. When I was in China, I took a trip to the port city of Beijing--Tianjin where there is an entire area that sells fake versions of every high end watch, handbag, jewelry, etc. You can buy a Rolex, Breitling, Tissot, Omega, etc. for 50-300 dollars. They WORK and are sometimes hard to distinguish from an original by just LOOKING! The market is huge and is mostly for CHINESE buyers!

I have no doubt that whoever is supplying the domestic market is also exporting to the U.S. So take care.

After a visit to that area, about a month later we were at a mall in Japan. I looked at a Rolex (no intention of buying--can't afford such things) in a Mall there. Picked it up, and I HONESTLY could not verify that it was in any way different from the FAKE I had handled in Tianjin, out of curiosity. My thoughts. Was the Japanese store selling fake watches from China?

    Who knows! I sure didn't.

Damn those Chinese are getting "good"! lol

You do know that your cell phone tells time....for free, right ? Whats the purpose of a watch these days when we all have a phone glued to our hip ? Maybe style....man bling ? I dunno....never had a use for a watch. Probably because I'm not a clock watcher by nature.

The knock off's extend to lots of high end collectibles - there are even knock off's/fake of Japanese antique katana (swords). When they first started showing up it was easy to tell if you knew your 'stuff', but they are getting better and better.

    Buyer beware!

I wore watches as a kid but grew to hate the weight on my wrist and didnt wear them for the longest time, probably 15 years. Then the cell phone came around and I would say this same thing as you just said. But I've always liked the look of a good watch. The older I've got, the more I appreciate the look of a good watch on a wrist. It is a man's form of jewelry without looking like a guido or a cheese d*ck. Necklaces and rings aren't my thing. A nice watch just rounds out a style for me. Plus, having a nice watch just makes me feel good. Can't explain it but watch guys get it.

Cell phones are more recent. I've been wearing a watch since Johnson was president.
I look at my watch all day. It takes an instant to see the time. Fishing out a cellphone to look at
isn't the same. I have to pay attention to time. Time to start, time to stop, and document
    it.
As far as those stupid bling watches, no thanks. It's money down the toilet.
Almost all the high end watches on Dallas CL are knock offs. So the value of owning a real
one isn't much. And selling one used, good luck. I have about as much use for a $3k watch
    as WOOT.

Money spent on watches just means less for audio pursuits. Everyone has their priorities and I don't judge for those willing to put theirresources where they get their enjoyment.
