How to tame a Klipsch

My Dad's new house has a built in in-wall system, and his Klipsch play 12db louder on average at the same volume, so you couldnt turn the inwalls up without it BLARING in the den...
So how did we tame them?
A VOLUME CONTROL...
We went from the amp, to the ins on the volume control, then from the outs on the volume control to the speakers.
The result?
Able to control the output of the speaker, from calibrated with the home theater (MAX) to total off to anywhere between.
The idea failed once, a short, then the idea worked the second time. I thought I would share our idea/find.
