Utterly confused

Hello, I'm in need of some help from someone who actually knows what they're doing as I have no clue what I've gotten myself into.
Basically I bought an Audio-Technica AT2020 XLR thinking it'd be real simple hooking it up to my computer, no such luck. I bought a Wharfedale Connect 802, an XLR cable and a jack cable (If that's even what it's called). Now, I know a fair bit about computers and hooked it up the way I assumed things would hook up but for some reason it would appear the microphone isn't getting any power even though I have phantom power enabled on the mixer.
The mixer is connected to my sound card (Asus Xonar Essence STX) using the jack cable.
I'm sure I have done a newbie mistake somewhere and I'm hoping someone will know what I've done wrong.
If you need any more information please let me know and I'll get right on it.
Thanks!

Is your microphone cable XLR on both ends or does it terminate in some type of balanced 1/4" connector or something? Try plugging headphones into the mixer and see if you can hear the mic at that point. Could be an issue with the computer input/settings.2 Channel - Polk SDA-2BTL, Carver TFM-35, Peachtree iDAC, Qobuz streamed via Episode Lynk using bubble UPnP server

The microphone cable is XLR on both ends indeed. I tried plugging my headset directly into the mixer and that seems to work. Very confusing, I was almost certain the microphone had a blue LED. My computer however does not pick up any sound from the mixer.

I have found a solution, though I am not sure it is supposed to be done this way. What I did was connect the jack going to the sound card into the headphones plug and that seemed to work just fine.
