Current Setup

Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR608

Front: Polk RT600i
Center: B&W HTM62
Surround: Polk FX300i
Sub: PSW350

I am looking to gain some floor space and replace my towers. In the past I was eyeing LSi9 but have been removed from research and demos for so long I am looking for input. I have a pair of Bose 301s I could use but I'm still looking for a better pairing. I've only had a chance to listen to MartinLogan Motion 4, B&W CM1GB and Polk tsi200. I was really impressed by the MartinLogans, I felt immersed in the music. I haven't heard, but I am interested in Polk LSi7 and RTiA3.

Frys sells both, so you could probably demo them there.

Move fast. Many Fry's stores are selling out their LIS7/9 demo speakers.
I saw a set of lsi-7's for $180 with a couple of small marks. There were
Lsi-9's at another store here in Dallas for $200, but those looked pretty beat up.

Keep in mind, bookshelf speakers need stands---which are usually as big a footprint as towers in the end.

    Just sayin.

yep, we've got our bookshelf speakers on bookshelves... deep, open-backed shelves, so resonance problems that you might have on some shelves aren't really an issue.

Or some of the models do okay wall mounted...

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Books? Yeah, I have a several thousand of those. Kindles, nah, maybe for a few works on the go. But if you really want to ponder life's great mysteries, you really do need a "library" and bookshelves ALL aroundl

BTW, I'm not sure that you could fit an LSI-9 on any normal bookshelf. It's pretty DEEP (over 15 1/4")!

CNH, that's what i was thinking, lsi9's are pretty big, so i assumed he'd be stand mounting them.

There are shelves where Bookshelf speakers were before I moved in. The Frys by me does not have LSi7 to Demo. I have removed the MartinLogans from my list after a second Demo.

    $250 for Polk TSI200
    $400 for Polk LSi7
    $400 for Polk RTI A3
    $600 for Def Tech SM55

Keep in mind chief, that any bookshelf speaker is going to need some room behind it if it ports out the back or it will sound boomy. If you have limited space in the rear, or the speaker needs to be close to the back wall/bookshelf/cabinet, look for a speaker that ports out the front instead.
