I dont have any reflection issues. My mains are toed in so the reflection from the tv is not visable from the side of the speaker. Also the curve of the cabinet helps with that too. The center is angled up so I can see the top when viewing tv. If these where square speakers facing straight I could forsee and issue

The accent lighting is aimed straight down so it blankets the front of the speaker rather then glare off it

I love the look of the gloss black speakers as they just look fun and modern and classy. I for one could never do the gloss thang myself as I love to be more evolved in a movie. I took my JVC X30 round to my friends to to watch a movie with his SF Venere setup and the reflections totally kill the contrast for dark room pj movies so its not a practical approach. I think if you have the tv like jhaymans setup with the speakers at the side and center under the tv its works and 'looks' pretty good..... very sexy looking speakers

    Sublime!
I just signed in after a long while just to say that.
I got the black RTi A5s last year and now I'm also thinking of replacing them with the cherry ones xD
Just one question, how would the black ones look if something similar is done to them?

I was thinking of doing my black A9s, but the finish isn't smooth. I'm not sure if the polishing would work on that finish.

Yes, any input from either specd_out or F1nut as to how it would look on the black wood-grain A9s...?

And how you would go about doing it?

    :)

WOW! Makes those speakers look a price level or two higher!!

Very nice work! If I wasn't concerned about the reflections front he screen I'd be all over this!

    Beautiful!

    That's certainly an up-scale pair of A5s!

    From the dust on my 4 cherry A9s & CSiA6, I just can't see the wife doing this . . . .

You can polish them, but a high gloss sheen doesn't look so good when the pores in the wood are not filled. I don't think you'd be happy with the results.

Hey guys thanks for all the compliments. I have been getting a few requests so I will make a how to over the next few days.

To answer a few questions that have been posted here.

my speakers are about 2.5' from the side of my tv slightly toed inward. in the year I have had these polished I have never noticed any reflections from my tv. watching movies with no lights on also doesn't show reflections.
Just because my setup doesnt show reflections doesn't mean your wont so, its something to consider

I have not seen the black RTiA line in black personally. If its textured like the tsi line than Id imagine it wont look so hot when polished. Most of the time polished black speakers are painted black and than cleared so its more like an automotive finish than a stained wood. You can always try polishing the underside of the speaker too see how it looks. If you dont like it, its on the bottom and you dont ever have to see it again
