I just picked up a pair of these for $25. I'm pretty sure it's a good deal, what do you think? I have a couple questions.

The lamination is coming off the front part. What can I do about this? Can I just peel it off and replace? If so how do I go about it? Or should I just hit it up with a sharpie?

There appears to be a little ripple on the outer edge of one of the tweeters. Is this any thing to be concerned about? I'm assuming this is no big deal.

Sharpie. Tweeter is toast for optimal performance. Nice bookie if you can take the time to get it up and running.

Really? You can tell it is toast just by looking? What would it take to get up and running?

Could anyone elaborate? I'm pretty much a newbie and would like to be well informed.

If replacement is necessary, what is the part I'm looking for and what other models have this tweeter.

    Thank for you help

Yes, you can tell just by looking. The tweeter has melted due to the excessive heat, most likely caused by constant clipping from an underpowered amplifier. A new tweeter will most likely be all it takes to get it up and running. Just call Polk during normal business hours and be sure to tell them that you are a member of the forum.

That tweeter is no longer available. If they have anything it would be a silk replacement which sounds pretty different. You can find the actual tri-lam replacement on EBay time to time

Interesting, i see it but I really can't hear it. Here is a pic of the other tweeter. Does this look damaged? Is it possible only one is damaged?

That one looks fine Easy Runnin.

BTW, thanks Trey. I did not know that they were discontinued. They were a nice tweeter.
