SDA-1A's and Emotiva XPA-2

Has anyone used SDA-1As with Emotiva amplifiers? I recently purchased Emotiva XPA-2 power amp and USP-1
preamp to drive my Polks. The Emotiva is disapointing in the Bass output and also sounds somewhat harsh. I use to use a Heathkit AA-1800 until it blew up. It always sounded great with the SDAs.
Any comments?

Have the speakers had any mods performed on them or are they stock? If stock it may be that some of the crossover components have worn out for lack of a better term.

Or It could be those components aren't doing it for you. Do you have any audiophile buddies you can swap gear with and see if a different power amp/pre would improve the sound?

I've owned some Emotiva amps in the past and while they weren't my favorite for two channel duties, they did have impressive bass with my SDA-1Cs. Have the XPA-2 and USP-1 been broken in? They may need more time. XPA-2s have never been known for having a lack of bass so if you are still having the problems with bass after you have about 100 hrs on your new components, I would suspect it would either be a setting on the USP or the USP itself that was causing the problem.

Did you hook the interconnects going from the pre to the amp to the full range output terminals on the back of the USP-1? If not I would try that first.
