GOLF, GOLF and more GOLF - there's over 200 courses in a 12 mile x 12 mile area! March can be iffy for good golf weather there too, usually doable though.

Lots of good eating and drinking establishments - good seafood.

Beaches - again, hit or miss on if the weather is good enough to enjoy that very much in March. Going IN the water at that time? - NO! Unless, you're a diehard surfer and have a good dry suit.

Lots of touristy stuff (miniature GOLF, theme restaurants, etc.) and the people there are generally very friendly.

Thanks for the reply! We're heading there because my inlaws have a place for Feb/Mar so accommodations are free. They are big golfers, I am not. I'm Canadian, so, short of there being ice on the water, I'll probably go for a swim. I'm not a seafood eater but love fish. Looks like there is a bar on the pier, you'll likely find me in it!

Murrell's Inlet has some really good seafood/fish restaurants. South of there is Huntington Beach State Park for a more natural beach experince and a little south of that is Brookegreen Gardens, which has the largest sculpture garden you'll ever see. It's a beautiful place, well worth the trip. A word of caution, there's a lot of gators in and around the waters at the Gardens, stay away from them. I pretty much stay out of Myrtle Beach proper, a total tourist trap, but they do have a very cool old time wooden rollercoaster. There's also decent tittie bar off the main road in, just outside of town. Once you get off of I-95 South, do NOT speed or you will get a ticket...you have been warned.
