rt600s as surrounds? (rears?_

can they be used as rear channels. Im thinking I want to change them becuase I want bigger fronts. I bought the 600s cuase I wanted polk and at the time that is what I could afford...now I can afford more...
do I do that or sell the 600s and get the surrounds sepereate and seperate fronts?

    yes, they can be used as rears, as long as you got the floor space to eat up:D

    depending on your room layout, you may also want to go with di/bipole speakers (the fx line) for your rears, but since you have the 600's i would just go with those for now, get some 1000's or 2000's up front, and if you want to try out the fx's later, then you could always sell your 600's, but hey, you may be more than happy with them from the start. i know i would...

    The drawback to using the 600's for surround is really the loss of some placement flexibility, since they have to sit on the floor. Usual placement for the rear surrounds, for theater use, would be above ear level. It might work fine though; Just depends on what you like.

    This is of course just my opinion, but I think, in the long run you'd be better off using some smaller bookshelf speakers or the f/x's for rears. I understand wanting something better, but is there something specific that you don't like about the 600's as fronts? If you were going to upgrade, what do you have in mind? Just curious.
